Can't believe the bird man totally ignored me

 

In my notes I had a bit about how people would put up 'Lost dog' or 'Lost cat' posters all over the neighborhood and they would be up there for months on end. The bit was that there should be a paid job where someone contacts all the owners in person and tells them that it's been months and to give up the search because their pet was probably eaten by a coyote. And then the person would charge them the reward money plus a finder's fee for breaking the news. I'd want that job.

it wasn't funny when I wrote it down and it's even less funny now

 

where did you see it??? you have to mark the date and location! you can't just add birds willy-nilly! it's a scientific database not a personal record keeper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

No, I know that, but it's not in my bird list because it's not native to the US. So I know exactly where and when I saw, it, but I can't log it which seems dumb.

I know you're not like Merlin himself, but can you really not track birds you see at say, a zoo or aviary or something just because you didn't see them in the "wild"?

 

didnt know TBS put on a good live show. literally only heard how much they blow live. or adam anyway

I will say that recently I went to see Senses Fail with Laura cuz she recently started listening to them and they were worse live than any TBS set I’ve seen and idk if they have near the same reputation for being bad live

 

i've seen them good FAR more often than i've seen them bad/off. i won't defend them from being bad from time to time but i think the TBS hate is so grossly overexaggerated on this website lol

 

They were fun years ago but Adam cannot sing live anymore and doesn’t even say half the lyrics

tried pokemon go once and it wasn’t my thing at all. Thought it’d be cool because I go out for long walks all the time, but just found it to be distracting from the music I was listening to and it wasn’t engaging at all

 

i still check in on PoGo from time to time but i just think theyre trying to do too much with it now. i was addicted to that app for like 2-3 years though. played every day and would go out with groups of people on weekends to do raids lol

 

Pretty sure I saw a guy outside the grocery store running out in the rain trying to grab a pokeman in the sky the other day. Legitimately didn't know that people still played that game.

 

yeah that's cheating lol. I went to a wildlife reserve and some handlers were showing off some owls and I wasn't about to log that I'd seen a Chinese owl in San Antonio lol

 

I saw Senses Fail at a warped tour once and Buddy was so drunk he could barely sing and then started yelling at people in the crowd. Bizarre and uncomfortable experience

 

i'll never forget like in the early days of the game, it made the local news here on the island bc there was apparently a wild dragonite in one of the towns on the water and like, THOUSANDS of people descended on the town and for hours people couldnt even drive around the town because there were so many people standing in the streets trying to get the dragonite lmao

 

I guess I see the point, but like you're seeing the bird lol you're not logging a picture or a video or something.

It’d be funny if there were a second Chinese owl just outside the reserve shaming you for not logging it

My friend had a Macaw growing up, what if that thing escaped and I saw it flying around outside? All I'm saying is I should be able to log any bird I see. Merlin's a jerk
