Here's kinda what I don't get about people's anger though. There HAVE been things to get excited about. Maye has looked great. Keion White looks like he's a real player. Gonzo is going to be All-Pro one day. Those are your three most important young players. I think AVP has been mostly fine, and now you go into the Offseason with a top-5 pick, 100+ million in cap space etc to build around those three.

Would have liked to see one of Polk or Baker and Robinson or Wallace elevate, but still early on those guys too.

I haven’t watched much Patriots this year, but I don’t feel bad for a head coach for a team that got the third overall pick and took a QB that has shown flashes from what I’ve read/heard about him

Titans and Raiders are examples of teams easily in much worse positions

I feel bad in the sense that no matter what happened this season, there would be a large contingency desperate to fire him. This area has no patience or understanding of what a rebuild looks like

I dont think fans of any team anywhere for the most part have any patience for a rebuild. its not localized. even if a franchises fans have been grossly spoiled with success for more than a decade.

 

You're always much more optimistic than me lol

The 2025 offseason & season was always realistically the big tell for me to see if they have the right regime in place. 2024 was always a bridge to 2025 and it's hard to make a definite call when they all needed a year under their belt in new roles taking over a horrible team. But posters do be posting and can't say I'm optimistic yet.

I obv feel good about Gonzalez and White on defense (I wish we knew if Wolf had any influence on drafting them), and Drake Maye gives me something I haven't felt with this team in 5 years at that position (but like ... drafting the obvious best remaining QB at 3 doesn't tell me a whole lot yet on Wolf's ability to identify talent). But even so, the defense was supposed to be the strength of the team and it's been underwhelming. Trading Judon and the Barmore injury hurts.

We just better hope Kraft lets them spend $$$ in the offseason and I hope Wolf will be able to identify and draft talent. I'm not making any declarations on the 24' draft this early but I'm still unsure on Wallace/Robinson and I feel very unwell McConkey was right freakin' there and we ended up with Polk.

Either way, having Maye alone makes me feel so much better we aren't the Titans
