I have more than once bought a game for Switch because there was no sign of a PC port only to be burned and then buy it again on Steam because that's where I wanted it to begin with. I've tried to get better at this.

Would Lunar be considered a "playstation game' it was a remaster of the sega cd version. Idk what the parameters for that list are

Their criteria is kinda nonsense. It states in the article, "when you think of this game, do you think of Playstation". That's how they choose. But to me, that's just a fancy way of saying any game released on Playstation. Because if you played on Playstation your entire life, that means every 3rd party game will make you think of Playstation. That's five generations of third party releases.

Whenever I think of Panzer Dragoon Saga, I think of the emulator I play it on because I've never played it on a real Sega Saturn. lol

Beat Metaphor this week and started up FF7 Remake but otherwise I've spent a ton of time on BLOPS 6, good game, though my MP shooter skills are rapidly deteriorating lol

At least MGS at #1 was an exclusive and makes you think of PlayStation. So they didn’t fuck that one up at least.

Pepper grinder was fun, extremely short and the controls could be a little unwieldy but it was worth the four bucks

I was like 7 when I first played MGS. I think it might have been out for like a year at that point. Imagine being 7 back then and experiencing that Psycho Mantis memory card trick. So glad that series stayed so consistent, even if I didn’t love 5 as much as the rest. I wish Kojima could get his hands back on it somehow.

  23. I think I underestimated how difficult iris and the giant is. I was feeling a little stagnant in the progress I was making so I tried a run on easy and got as far as the nineteenth floor but the last five of those were giving me a hard time and I shudder at the thought of facing those floors on normal. It's starting to feel like Fights in Tight Spaces where I enjoy the gameplay but can't get very far

okay nvm, i tried again on normal and managed to beat the path of the giant, so that was a huge confidence booster.

the story is told through a series of memories found along the way, i think it's implied that the mother is gone and on top of that the other students bully Iris for how she copes with such a loss not to mention at the end the giant turns out to be her father, indicating that he, too, is dealing with the grief, which only adds to what Iris is going through. at least, that's my interpretation, having finished only one of the paths so far. the fact that the one you unlock upon completion is Path of the Ferryman (aka Charon, in all his iterations in other games like Hades, Spiritfarer, and 8Doors) further suggests that she's dealing with the loss of a family member.

maybe i should've used one big spoiler tag instead of several smaller ones but i'm not gonna go back and fix it now. anyways, point being, it's refreshing to see a rogue with such a unique and poignant storytelling motif, often story/lore comes secondary in games like this. which isn't to say the deckbuilder gameplay and ability unlocking isn't fulfilling in its own right.

neat little game. a little less Slay the Spire/Dicey Dungeons and a little more Monster Train/Banners of Ruin. the only other deckbuilder I've played with a strong story element is Black Book, and that's only because it's linear and not a rogue.
