Forgot that big 12 had to get a team in. Definitely hurts Bama's chances -- could see them ranked above the Big 12 winner and just not get the spot

Four is still the perfect number.

    Oregon, osu, texas, penn state

Notre dame and Miami out for bad losses

Eh see that's why I wanted at least six. Like, just doing a big10/sec challenge every year would get silly and like last year, there should never be a scenario where an undefeated acc team doesn't get to play. Getting it to 6, 8, or 10 alleviates all doubt.

And the big10 gets 3 teams? That's lame.

I agree as of today those 4 would be pretty clear cut

What i like about the expansion the most is the auto qualifying for conference champions. The fact that so many big 12 trams have been alive is pretty fun..

Arizona st and Boise st gettting a chance is fun..

12 is a bit overkill though. Trim it to 10 and I think we have a fun system.

I think 12 looks like an odd number in part because of how the Big 10 skews it with 18 teams. The top teams barely play each other at all in the B10 this season vs where the SEC has at least two on every team’s schedule, if not 4 or 5, with “only” sixteen teams. If the PAC-12 still existed as it did last year, 12 would still be a perfect number of teams.

That being said, I still take every 1-3 loss SEC team in a head to head vs Indiana and Penn State right now in a vacuum. Indiana and Penn State going 11-1 vs their schedules is certainly enough to qualify and I don’t think they should be left out, but both failed their only real test so it does make the field feel too big I think. Notre Dame feels the same way too, in some regards, but they’ve also been better than I care to admit across their season excluding NIU. We’ve got to force them into a conference already.

12 is great. Give me all of the drama, give me a crazy big 12 with 4 teams fighting for one spot, give me having a bunch of 3 loss SEC teams fighting for one spot, give me teams like Indiana that shock people and get a shot at something special. I’m all here for this playoff and it’s made the last month a lot fun. It makes it so there’s 8-10 meaningful games this past weekend instead of 2-3. I don’t know how anyone can think this is a bad thing. Personally I’d get rid of the title games, add 4 more teams and have a 16 team playoff like FCS did for a long time.

I agree with me being way more on board with 12 when we had a pac and better big12. Half the teams are conf champs and half are wild cards...I like it.

Seems crazy that teams keep moving from FCS up to FBS when longtime FBS schools like this and Temple are struggling

Promotion/relegation, baby! Let Kent state get relegated to FCS, then even lower. I want to see them line up against, like Findlay University or some shit.

With Bama and Ole Miss at 13 and 14, I have no idea how to root for us to move up a spot or two without letting them into the playoff because we’d most likely get to host on my birthday if we can move up some.

I think it has to be a close Miami loss to SMU/Clemson in the ACC Championship game? Maybe a loss by the top 3 B10 teams or Notre Dame, but neither seem super likely.

    The rivalry is back on

    all you’d need is probably:
    Clemson over SC
    Texas over Georgia
up to one upset elsewhere to get onto the soft side of the bracket

Im sorry. Tulane getting in over any big 12 champ...while funny...is crazy talk

Also Clemson getting so much love is also insane. Their only win over a team .500 or better is pitt. That's it. And they got murdered by Georgia and lost hardly to Louisville

I look at bad losses too but we don't care about quality wins at all?

Careful, you're gonna upset a lot of people for suggesting performance matters more than the box score!!!

Clemson doesn’t bother me much because if they lose to SC, they’ll be out, and if they beat SC, they probably deserve it.

but like....that's not an exaggeration. they have ONE WIN over a team over .500. I'm not saying a win over a ranked team even, just .500...they have 1. And one of the losses is to an unranked team and the other is an asskicking.

Clemson didn't play Miami, SMU, Duke, Syracuse, Georgia Tech...and when they played Louisville they pretty much got killed too.

Clearly the committee thinks "good bad losses" and overall record is the only thing that matters, which is funny because march madness seems like the opposite haha

I think Clemson is decent enough tbh. Young team that has come along more as the season has progressed. That said, idk that I'd put them in
