Lmfao even origins isn’t turn based it’s real time with pause!!!

 

This is one gripe I have with Steam, as someone who is desperately trying to organize his library, and it's that anyone can add a tag to a game and while more popular ones will bubble to the surface, the other tags still exist, and it makes things incredibly difficult to parse. Developers/publishers should have to tag their games and that's it.

 

I’m a little curious how everyone responds to this: in general when you sit down for a gaming sesh will you play one game the whole time or play multiple games in the same sitting?

 

One game, I have no idea how you people have the time to play more than one.

 

That's not a criticism, mind you. Teach me your ways.

Multiple games but only one that is story focused. Any additional games I play will be replaying things or something like Balatro or Session where it’s easy to just mess around

 

Usually multiple but if I'm knee deep in the middle of a good RPG, there might be a few days where the sessions contain only that game. Generally though, I'll play 2 or 3 games per session. They're usually of different genres and one of them will at least be easy to pick up and put down. The casual games. Ya know, like Tetris or pretty much any racing or sports game. Where the investment requirement is really low.

 

I will spend my entire evening playing one game, and one game only: the Steam store.

 

cod multiplayer especially team confirmed is fun as hell

 

Not trying to make this sound more difficult than it is, but I just can't fathom switching gears between two games I'm invested in without putting one into the background and make only incremental progress.

When I'm into a game, I'm into it. If I'm playing something else it's either because I wasn't into the first game, I'm only trying games out for some reason, or I fucked up somehow.

 

Usually how I do it if I’m playing multiple games in a day but I’ll just stick to one game a lot too

I play gacha daily so that's at least 4 minimum.

 

I was absolutely guilty of this when I played gacha, but that's also because I skipped a lot of the story to do it, to my immense frustration.

 

It was like Priconne, Danmachi, Konosuba, and Date A Live all had gachas at the same time and I'm like please, have mercy! Now they're all gone. Never forget.

 

Yeah to be fair if there's no story going on in any of them I'll usually spend maybe 15 minutes in each game, hoyo has structured its games so they're on a schedule that even if they're on story patch vs a filler patch you're never feeling rushed in any of the game's 6 week patch cycles to finish all 3 at any given moment. And when the story content is GOOD, it nails it so it's not like I feel obligated in actually enjoying it.

But when I'm playing something like veilguard or Yakuza I appreciate only spending an hour or less on all the games lol.

 

I played all those except the konosuba haha. And the Jin Maeda VN gacha is made by the same team that did danmachi memorial freese and another great gacha from Chrono Trigger devs (Another Eden) and their type of gameplay is clearly evidenced throughout their DNA so I'm just like.....I've played this before lol.

But that's quite the grind fest you had going on it seems lol.

Been playing DQXI recently on the Deck and forgot how great the game is, it’s so damn cozy
