Very possible that someone who could credibly pursue a politics based on the actual fact that a small group of incredibly wealthy individuals and corporate interests increasingly run the world and are responsible for most of the ways in which people are unhappy with the society they live in…. might see success!

Or you know, you could just talk about mythical drugrunners coming across the border, or try to sell people things are actually fine what are you even talking about.

 

I was in Cary just a few weeks ago and went to the H-Mart, was my first time ever being in one so I had fun just exploring the aisles and all the options they had in the food hall lol

 

My extremely cynical take is that this number is going to jump right back up in the next year or two as republicans stamp out harm reduction measurements like needle exchanges and safe injection sites, and possibly even widespread availability for narcan although that’s become such a big thing it could be political suicide. the other two are things people absolutely abhor despite the stats clearly showing they save lives. healthcare costs/gutting programs making it harder to go to treatment or get on a maintence drug is also gonna be a huge issue here in the next few years as well. im also sort of thinking the overdose deaths are down because the user base has quite literally died off. (Still trying to figure out why I was spared). I also know from personal experience fentanyl addiction is a completely different beast than heroin addiction and takes you down at a much quicker more vicious rate and a lot of people are jumping ship and getting help quicker than they would’ve in the throes of heroin addiction

Actually the story of black people and race relations among the allies during WW2 is one of the most untold stories of the war.

Did you know basically everywhere American troops went during the war race riots followed because Americans tried to enforce segregation of black troops in countries that weren't used to it? There was a full on race riot on a fucking military base in Guam just months after it was liberated between white and black marines where they had to bring in the head of the NAACP into an active theatre of war to mediate it. Give me a WW2 movie about that.

Fentanyl overdoses have gone down bc zylazine or tranq is spreading everywhere.. I had a friend in North Carolina recently almost have to get both his arms amputated from using it for the past year, and I know a bunch of harm reduction people in Pittsburgh that have said almost every bag they test doesn't have Fetty in it

 

This isn’t new just fyi haha. When domesticated rabbits come to shelters they’re quarantined for a few weeks and then vaccinated against this. We fostered a lot of rabbits during lockdown. I only mention so people don’t get worried this is something that just popped up

 

My bunny is getting vaccinated for that soon. My vet only does it once a year because apparently it goes bad very quickly after opening. (She also said the disease “isn’t in MA…yet”)

 

The Korean restaurant is good. The bubble tea that’s made at H-Mart is awful. The Japanese restaurant is 50/50. Really depends on the day.

If you’re a fan of Costco there’s one just 10 minutes away in Apex. Pretty condensed area.

 

Not politics related but my family just heard and witnessed fireworks and we have no idea why because there's nothing in the news, so we're just assuming it's some rich asshole breaking the law.

 

Is it that unusual where you live? I wish I could be that surprised when I hear fireworks lol.

I live in MA and it feels like there are fireworks at least every 2-3 months for no reason. Sometimes it’s literally just one or two which makes it even more confusing. Maybe it’s not that frequent but it sure seems that way. (And it’s always very annoying.)
