I feel this. As soon as I packed my bags to move I was looking at Raleigh’s housing prices and it chased me out the door. One of my friends worked at SAS in Cary, but took a job near Alexandria, VA. Housing prices was one of the reasons.

Raleigh has a special place in my heart as it’s where I received a lot of my education and many of my closest friends are there. It’s the one place in the US I’d ever consider living…if housing somehow reverses the trend of the last 4 years.

When I was a junior in high school my Government teacher had recorded this sketch and wanted to play it back for us in class. It had been out for weeks and my friend and I had memorized every line because we thought it was so hysterical. We used to do things like that with standup, The Simpsons, Arrested Development, etc. and record ourselves doing stupid little sketches. So my teacher was playing it and my friend and I were mouthing along back and forth to each other when he noticed us. He asked if we knew every word of this thing by heart and I said yeah. He then had us come up front and perform it lol. I did Gore because I could do the Darrell Hammond impression pretty well and I can still remember his entire speech about the lockbox and his “friend” Etta Munsen who has every sickness under the sun.

I still have the Gore line about squandering the surplus on risky tax plan/lockbox line in my head to this day lol

Lol the way he says “BEN-e-fits”. The lockbox is camouflaged and nobody knows its location except the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, himself, and Tipper.

This is pretty cool. It's too bad they're the enemy and we'll have to bomb them. Sorry, world!

My sister just moved to Cary earlier this year and I’ve visited her 3 times already and I really like the area to the point where I have begun to consider moving there sometime down the line. It’s interesting reading your take from New Jersey where I’ve been looking to buy a house or condo for a while now and everything is too expensive for me, and then I look down at places in the Raleigh area and see a lot that I could probably afford. The rent my sister is paying for her 3 BR house in Cary seems really cheap to me compared to what a place like that would cost to rent up here lol but I know there’s other factors that’ll play into that like the job salaries i’m sure will be lower there

The wildest ones of these to me is when they find out that somehow the babies got swapped in the hospital and a kid was raised by the wrong family. The story of the Jewish family going home with an Italian kid and vice versa and the families wondering why the kids did not look like the rest of the family blows my mind.

Though this one might top those.

Yeah I think the ranking would go:

    Family Crime/Murder
Dad/Mom Cheated, finding out your one of your parents is not your parent. Think you could also include finding you have more siblings.
    Baby Swap Hospital

Though maybe the Baby Swap goes above the cheating/secret sibilings one? Feel like that might be even.

  24. Idunno I just feel like baby swap is presumably accidental so inherently less bad. but maybe i'm desensitized to the topic because I have a friend who was a nurse working in birth and neonatal care who would joke about swapping babies. no offense to anyone
