It didn't seem like the segment he played was very combat-heavy compared to other games he's done where he's thrown into action.

 

I already have the special edition preordered, so I'm all in on FFXV. Truly hope it is amazing, trying to keep my expectations in line, but I'm so excited.

There are plenty of good games that have solid demos both in general for clueless. DOOM for example.

JRPGs are notorious for taking time to wind up and devoid of context will demo poorly every time.

 

I like how WD2 has online co-op but man it'd be so much better if there was couch co-op to it. Seems like so much more of a rarity these days.

 

Couch co-op is tough to do outside of top down since you basically have to render twice.


And games struggle enough for 30 FPS as it is.

 

I am finally breaking and am going to get a PS4. Do I wait until Black Friday, or are there decent deals now? Any packages I should be looking for?

The conan/Elijah video was hilarious, I loved it. never played FF and probably won't, but no one should take a bit on conan as a "game review" haha. just a very funny and enjoyable video.

 

Depends if you want PS4 Pro or PS4 Slim.

True but I wish some companies just cared enough to do it. People are tempted to pick it up more if there's couch co-op imo

 

PS4 pro doesn't seem worth it unless you have OLED 4K to me.

 

It's definitely not worth it given many games running on PS4 pro have issues such as framerates. If one wants "true" 4K, wait for PS5 or Xbox Two (Four?) or PC now.

 

I'm a casual gamer who has had a broken PS3 that I solely use for BD. If I had a working system I'd probably play occasionally, a couple times a week for a few hours. Don't see myself going over the 500GB limit of Slim, though. TV is nice but nothing crazy, not 4K. I tend to hold on to my consoles forever before upgrading again, so longevity is a factor. Sound like I need the Pro or the Slim?

 

Pro is much more than just a larger hard drive, but I think you'll be fine with the slim since you said you're a casual gamer.

 

But, this generation, all games install to the hard drive, and each game is roughly 30-60 (sometimes even larger) in size and patches themselves can be 20gb at times. So, I guess you may eventually reach the 500gb limit.

Yeah, 500GB really isn't that much anymore. Most games are 60GB +. Fortunately, and I'm not sure if PS4 does this (but Xbone One does), they have your game saves on the cloud. So even if you delete it - you can reinstall and your saves will still be there.

Sounds like you can benefit from the PS4 Slim, I'd check out some deals on Black Friday - can get a game or two for the same price.

 

Cloud saves is a PS+ thing. It generally sounds like you'd be fine with a Slim, and remember you can always buy a new hard drive (it's super easy to replace) down the line if you're running out of room, I think I got the 2TB in mine for $70 or so.

 

500GB console, plus three fantastic games, for $250
