if the Jags actually do pick #1 and don't trade it for a haul, that is a huge mistake IMO

They said the same thing about the Travon pick but you can't trade if nobody wants to trade with you

totally agree, but that QB class was so brutal

I think there will be some GMs who won't be able to help themselves with Ward, Milroe and/or Sanders

I mean yeah I'm always in favor of trading down if we get a haul haha. Even just an okay deal I'm fine with if it nets us Hunter/Graham/Johnson/Campbell/banks

They should take Shedeur at 1 IMO

Ashton Jeanty has legit some of the best contact balance after a hit I’ve ever seen. Some of these highlights straight up remind me of Maurice Jones-Drew the way he just bounces off several tackles and still keeps his footing. Little arm tackles don’t even make him break stride. This guy requires two guys to wrap up to bring him down.

He’s also fantastic at quickly reading where to make his first cut and judging exactly how subtle it should be to catch the blocking at the right angle

Some Marshawn Lynch in his game also

All I’m gonna say is (provided we pick outside the top 3) the last time we passed on a very very good runningback prospect from Jacksonville, he beat our asses a double-digit amount of times as a Tennessee Titan

of course that’s superstitious but if football has taught me anything it’s that superstition isn’t ENTIRELY fake lol. Murphy’s law exists big time in the NFL

Randall the Jags absolutely cannot take a RB in the top 5

Leonard Fournette 2.0 (not the player, just the Jags taking a RB too early)

tbh if anyone took a RB that early of the current stinkers, I don’t hate the Jags as the candidate to do that. Their roster looks pretty good on paper and is inexplicably bad, and those are the teams that do best with early RB picks

is RB really their issue though? hasn’t bigsby been a success?

no, not at all IMO, but if you’re taking the player billed above as Tomlinson 2.0 in the top 10, you’re doing it because you think you’re adding an almost immediate top 5 player at the position, which I don’t think the ETN/Bigsby committee is

Yeah y’all just need to really grasp how good of a prospect Jeanty is

he has not had one game this year with less than 125 yards and is the only RB in recent memory with a chance to reach Barry Sanders’ FBS single-season record (set in 1988). And he is not running for a running-game powerhouse with a consistently great offensive line like Alabama or Wisconsin or even Oklahoma, he’s doing this on Boise State, a team that wouldn’t be nearly this competitive without him

One hundred percent. Also we upgrade on Etienne while letting him walk, keeping it cheap to have a strong RB room. Fact is while Bigsby has been “good” he’s not gonna command the attention of an opposing defense and if he does he’d be a lot less effective. The point of drafting Jeanty would be to take a lot more pressure off our passing offense so teams can’t just laser in on Trevor’s weaknesses and our receivers’ rather obvious shortcomings. Jeanty is straight up not gonna get tackled unless the defense is ready to swarm and that’s a much bigger commitment than Bigsby or Etienne really.
