...but when I asked my wife and even justified it with having the $50 that we'd forgotten for years... she immediately had an idea to spend it on our daughter's Christmas. This is fatherhood folks.

 

Get her Titanfall 2.

I'm not quite sure I know how to play Everybody's Gone to the Rapture lol

Or at least mostly unsure about the controller tilting stuff. Even so I *think* I cleared the initial town area. You know you're good when the church bells start ringing, right?

you mean walking sims types like Gone Home? I just played through The Beginner's Guide again and quite liked it.

Thought you had talked about playing it but I probably just jumped off and assumed cus it seems like you've played most of these types of games (to be totally reductive)

 

yeah it's absolutely on my list. i liked Machine for Pigs more than most folks and appreciated Dear Esther, and I'm fond of walking sims in general, just haven't gotten to it yet

 

Holy crap why have the prices on this come down so much? I paid $1999 for the 65 inch in May, and that was on sale from like $2299 or more. Last years JU7100 stayed at $2000 until like May. This is crazy!

 

Dear Esther is pretty unique. If you are wanting something similar but with a little more to do/interact with there's always the TellTale games and Life Is Strange.

 

Video is really funny but I'm kind of surprised they were alright with Conan just shitting all over the game the whole video without ever really saying anything positive

Has anyone found any good mods for Skyrim on PS4?

It sucks that Sony wouldn't allow them to open it up as much as the xbone version. All Best mod lists I've found online, mainly contain xbone only mods.

 

Watch Dogs 2 is great so far. I'm very impressed. I've spent about an hour with it and pretty much everything from the first game has been fine tuned and built upon. There are so many more options when it comes to hacking now. The driving feels more weighty but it's still smooth to control. Lots of choice when customising Marcus' appearance. San Francisco looks gorgeous. It may be too early to say but so far I think this is much better than the first. And I consider myself a fan of the first one, even if I did recognise its many shortcomings (I'd probably give the first a 7/10).

 

That's great to hear. Enjoyed the first for what it was, although after I beat it, I never picked it up again.

 

i am stupid excited for pokemon this week. everything i've seen about the game just oozes the style and positivity i need right now.

 

Pokemon hype is going to get me through this week.

 

Also started playing an $8 eShop title last night called Crimson Shroud which is kind of a brilliant little RPG that does it's best to emulate a D&D tabletop setting. I've only just started to sit with it but I really liked what I played so far. Very text and menu heavy but its great for me because I always wanna play tabletop stuff but can never find people to play with.
