Spiritbox probably has the worst chances of the bunch, but my God, i love Cellar Door and i love seeing it get the love it deserves.

the way people feel about artists like Taylor Swift constantly dominating the top categories is how i feel about Metallica consistently winning the metal awards (which they have 7 of the 8 times they've been nominated). just because they're the most recognizable legacy act of the bunch shouldn't automatically grant them a Grammy. hell, give it to Gojira if you're basing it off of widespread recognition in the past year.

Give the Grammy to Demilich. They deserve it more than all those peeps.

yeah I knew he was an amazing producer and founded fit for an autopsy but I did not know he is the creative driving force behind that band and writes all the lyrics and the vast majority of the music. add his work with END and better lovers (which I sadly do not enjoy very much) and all the great sounding records he’s done for other bands and it’s like someone took the Kurt ballou career blueprint and jacked it up to 11

  9. This made me check out Fit For An Autopsy. It's wild I've been listening to Putney's stuff for so long yet I had never heard his own stuff, Better Lovers aside.

"Fuming Mouth and Gatecreeper are both known for their intense, crushing guitar tones that are perfect for heavy metal and death metal genres. To achieve this sound, they typically use a Boss HM-2 pedal or an HM-2-inspired clone. The Boss HM-2, particularly the original "black label" Japanese models from the '80s, became legendary in extreme metal for its thick, distorted tone with a distinct "chainsaw" sound, popularized originally by Swedish death metal bands.

The setup usually involves dialing the "Level," "Low," and "High" knobs to the max (often called the "all knobs at noon" or "Swedish chainsaw" setting), which produces that uniquely gnarly, wall-of-sound distortion. Many modern pedal makers now create their own versions or modifications of the HM-2, such as the Wampler Dracarys, Lone Wolf Audio Left Hand Wrath, and other boutique brands that allow for more tonal flexibility. For both bands, the heavy, buzzing grind of the HM-2 or similar pedals is a staple part of their sound, lending them that gritty, dense tone that punches through in their recordings and live performances."

Someone really spent time feeding pedal information into ChatGPT? At least the robots will have great tone when they take over.
