those 3 songs are top tier

bottom tier: happy days, on some emo shit, remember to forget me
i know a lot of people would assume "blame it on my youth" should be in the bottom tier, but i have a soft spot for that song

On Some Emo Shit is in the top tier Nine songs for me.

I think them releasing Blame It On My Youth and Happy Days, which are two of the weaker songs on the album, killed the momentum for the album. If they released Darkside first I think the label would have marketed the album better/harder. Also going on tour before the album came out hurt that too.

Even though I like Nine more than California, it takes a minute to get to the stuff I love on that album. The last few songs are some of their best. But man… those first 2 songs are a weak start. Especially compared to Cynical -> Bored to Death and Anthem Part 3 -> Dance With Me on the surrounding albums

  6. yeah, i agree. those first 2 songs are weak. "the first time" is easily their weakest opener, in my opinion.

Honestly surprised, some of those noms made no sense since they got no hype like the new Black Crowes record. Rooting for Green Day or Jack White

Not only that, but then they toured EOTS once it was released so whatever little momentum it did have, was crushed shortly after as well.

Nine has pretty high highs, but also some of the most forgettable bland songs in Blink's entire catalog (Happy Days, Blame It On My Youth, Run Away, Hungover You...)
California on the other hand, while far from my favorite Blink album, is just a fun listen. Aside from Teenage Satellites there isnt anything I reach to skip on there. It was a great summer time album.

  13. haha why the hell would that Green Day album be nominated over Blink??? that doesn't make any sense to me.

also, I'm kinda over the Jack White praise. he gets nominated just because his name is on it. and why is Pearl Jam and the Rolling Stones even on here? the Grammy's are really scraping the bottom of the barrel rather than grabbing what's on top haha.

The Enema tour ended the day Nine was released. That Enema tour was supposed to be the Nine tour until the album got delayed because they kept working on it.

Have you listened to Jack White's new album? It's such a fun listen. Of his past 5 releases this is the one I thought absolutely deserved a nomination.

Blame it on my Youth is the only Nine song I like lol. So fun to see different takes on same albums.

This is where I’m at. California was a more fun time for the band than the Nine era - but I absolutely prefer Nine as an album

There are tracks I really like from both Nine and California but neither album works as a whole for me

Give it a listen. Also, the no frills punk rock approach to the tour he’s doing for it this year is remarkable. Something I wish Blink would try
