Ok well if the US ships don’t sink then a bunch more people die in Lebanon and Palestine and I CONSTANTLY feel like i’m taking crazy pills because no one cares! How upset am I meant to be at that? Is my reaction not understandable as long are consider the victims people every bit as deserving to live as anyone’s brother on a US ship? Moreso, as they’re not combatants?

Yes, people in general will prioritize the lives of their loved ones over others they do not know. This does not mean, as was implied and accused by you and others, that they don't feel any sympathy or fear or sadness for the people they don't know that are killed by the US Military. And someone observing this conversation is going to witness, on one side, that person literally saying as much, saying they still understand why the US Military is overall the bad guys and will be unhappy/sad/mad/etc if they kill more people, despite their loved one being their #1 priority, and on the other side you and nate and etc shrugging off that person's concern and continuing to make the same jokes about boats sinking and sailors dying and implying, if not outright saying, 'get over it, you shouldn't be upset they made that choice, besides other less fortunate people are dying'....and they're going to come away saying that person was being sensible and accommodating to your views on while you were being complete dicks to them and completely devoid of any empathy for their position and their feelings that they were vulnerable and open about.

And then you'll wonder why normies aren't going to be receptive to other left wing positions and education lol.
