Wild how much this album has been ignored outside the stereogum interview. It will never make sense to me how this dude gets a little less known with every record despite there being a reasonable argument he gets a little better with each*. P4k launched his career and didn’t even review this, it’s bizarre.

I expressed this on twitter but imo it just feels like nothing outside of the big name releases got much hype this year

 

Is Dustine the best song of all time? Probably!

 

At this point I truly like this album at LEAST as much as Pretty Years. It's also my favorite lyrics album in foorrreeevveerrr and I can't really explain why.

Thank god for Joe.

Was excited to see them tonight with Wild Pink but looks like Joe’s father-in-law passed recently according to his Instagram, so they dropped out. Totally understandable, condolences and sending good vibes out to his family.

 

Yep, now that more time has passed I can confidently say that I like this just as much as any CEG record.

the worst album he’s released is like a 7.5 out of 10 and the top two are legit hall of fame records for me

 

Music does not get any better than Dustine. Might get myself a custom lyrics sheet commissioned depending on how much he charges for that.

It's a contender for my album of the decade so far lol

 

It’s funny because that’s exactly how I feel about EC2!

I liked the first one a lot, especially when it came out, but it just doesn’t have the same replay value of most of his other stuff for me, and I think the first song on there is so good that nothing else really lives up to it.

Whereas EC2 is an absolute masterpiece to me. Some of my favorite lyrics in recent memory, consistently strong songwriting; just absolutely floors me every time.

 

Both are so good but the first one is just a little higher on wow moments for me. I get having Marian as the best but there’s so many standouts for me. Untitled and Swim are two of my favorite Joe songs ever.
