I'm so glad I don't have a very long commute. I miss when it was only 8 minutes away, but it's still only a 20-25 minute commute in traffic now.

I’m about a 10-15 second walk depending on traffic (my cat)

 

Currently in a job search after working remotely since the pandemic started. I told myself in 2020 I would never work in an office again. Now all the 100% remote WFH jobs I can find are sparse and not really reputable, a lot of telemarketing and b2b sales appointment setting bullshit. I reallly don't want some toxic dipshit middle manager in khakis staring over my shoulder in a cubicle again. I hate company office culture with a passion and I would be miserable doing that again now that I have experienced the other side.

Also I got rid of my car during my WFH years to save money since I was barely driving during the pandemic anyway (it payed off when rents rose dramatically in my area. I wouldn't even be able to afford car payments/gas/insurance now) so commuting would be a problem.

 

Had to stop at 3 different stores for 3 different things because apparently these are the only goddamn items that just can’t be sold all at the same store and the first store was out of item 1 and store 2 apparently doesn’t sell item 2 anymore so a lot of wasted time that cut into my getting drunk and watching basketball time tonight.

My favorite scent from Bath & Body Works is inconsistently available. Was going to stock up on body wash and spray, but now they only have it has a hand soap and candle. Ugh.

Coffee and Whiskey

They usually have it during the fall, so it’s been my go-to fall/winter scent, but in stores it usually disappears before the holidays. But this yeah it disappeared like, in August?

I love it, my wife loves it. Hell, I wore cologne with that scent on my wedding.

My stock is low. Guess I’ll have to do with a different scent this year (first world problem, I know…)

 

The big toe on my right foot has hurt for years and years, but my wife pointed out to me recently it’s an ingrown toenail. Just this year, it’s gotten a lot worse. I woke up this morning, and noticed the toe looks all fucked up and I can’t walk on it now cause it hurts so bad.
I have to walk on my heel of the right foot. I called my PCP to schedule an appointment to see if I can get it removed, but they keep returning my calls while I’m at work. I’m just going to go to urgent care today just to see if anything can be done now. I can’t stand this anymore (pun intended).

 

Fuck. Sorry to hear that. I had an ingrown toenail on both of my big toes at one point and that shit ain’t fun

Update: It’s a skin infection and I was given antibiotics for it. I’m glad I went instead of scheduling the removal appointment.

 

things are often not as bad as we think and we let our minds fill in the rest, which is usually not good for most of us. glad you figured it out and I hope you’re on the mend soon

 

I have to go to people's homes for my job so I have a huge laundry list of annoying things about housing

1. Apartment complexes that are massive and have no rhyme or reason and I feel like Nicholas Cage in national treasure trying to find where I need to go

2. Houses with no visible address numbers

3. Apartment complexes with no visitor parking so I have nowhere to park especially if there's no street parking alternative

I'm sure I have more, but those are tops for me rn

I got my regular Covid and flu boosters yesterday and I guess i forgot how shitty they make me feel afterwards. I woke up feeling absolutely awful. I hope I feel like my normal self for work in the morning.

 

Yeah, I got both at the same time and I felt flu-y for a full day and fatigued for nearly three days.

 

Yeah lol once in a while I'll find a very well organized one and want to cry from joy

My building confuses ppl because it's a secure building with a lobby and stuff but my apartment is like a separate wing with a different entrance so I have to put a thing in my Amazon delivery instructions and I pretty much never order Uber eats well partly because of the cost but also because it's not worth trying to call and explain to the delivery driver and at that rate I might as well just pick it up myself because I only order it to avoid human interaction
