If you want an extremely intimate setting with that Nada Surf album this is your chance because there will be very little people over there

At the Hopeless Records party in the punk rock museum and its lit! Open bar, I took a pic with Hank the pigeon, free swag. Good stuff

I was at the hopeless records punk rock museum event! Deryck from Sum 41 was there and Fat mike was there, I wanted to say hi, but they seemed deep in conversation.

I saw Stand Atlantic and talk a bit with his guitarist, and also saw Fat Mike and just shaked hands with him.

    So assuming that this weekend...

I wish I had the ability to take days off work to get out there early for the pre fest events. That all sounds so fun.

I did manage to get my principal (I’m a teacher) to let me leave school a little early, so I’m able to catch an earlier flight in today, so I’m stoked on that.

I could barely sleep last night. I felt like a little kid the night before Christmas. But I’m 35 years old.

That's cool man! I had to play it cool like I wasn't slightly starstruck being like a foot away from them meanwhile looking at Avenged Sevenfold and Thrice Hopeless Records era memorabilia. Kind of bittersweet that they are both retiring from the bands I grew up listening to.

A little nervous about flying solo this year, but also giddy and excited. When Saosin plays those opening notes of “It’s Far Better to Learn” tomorrow, I may have an out-of-body experience lol

Fuckin hell it's cold right now in Vegas. So glad I checked the forecast right before closing my suitcase on Wednesday and threw in a pair of jeans.

Reporting back from the side show last night. Brooklyn Bowl is solid but getting inside always takes FOREVER.

Merch was nightmare as it was one line to get either of the three band’s merch, but all paid through each band separately, so the line wasn’t much prior to the show.

Millionaires was fine for what they are. Apparently 2/3 original members left the group so it’s just one original performer with one new hire. Both sang their set with heavy backing tracks. I was surprised with how much of the crowd knew their songs. They seem to be tracking forward as a duo with new music.

3oh!3 was kinda disappointing but still solid They probably did 50min, played the hits, but didn’t really have “full” sounding audio, which I wasn’t sure if they’re just older and voices change, or if the audio mix was bad. There was a medical incident that probably made them have to cut a song as it lasted for minutes before security could help the fan. Also, not sure why, but they remixed the beats on at least three of their popular songs, which was a little jarring to hear something noticeable different but the crowd loved them regardless.

As for Cobra… they absolutely killed it. Played for about an hour, sounded great, and the crowd was eating it up. Gabe noted at some point that Ryland and Alex didn’t want to “do this” and introduced their replacements, who both did fantastic. A real fun time as everyone was all smiles, dancing around, and the Cobra crew seemed humbled by the response. Gabe hasn’t missed a beat.

After the show, they separated 3oh!3’s merch line which didn’t make that big of a difference as they only had 1 shirt IIRC, but nobody really stopped by their booth (as I also think a lot of folks didn’t see where it moved and assumed it shut down). Millionaires has 1 style shirt, 1 style hoody, and 1 style booty short for sale. Cobra had a couple non-clothing items like stickers/cardboard fangs, and 2 shirt designs. We ended up in their merch line for 30min after the show and got the last two shirts of one of the designs, leaving about 100 people left to fight over 1 design with only two sizing options. All said, Cobra made a killing at the merch booth

Oh wow, that's a total bummer that Ryland and Alex aren't involved

Was also at the Cobra show. Wasn’t a medical incident but some little douchebag who was actively pushing everyone, myself included.

Show was fun. Wish Cobra played more than just Snakes from their first album. It was very Viva heavy, but at least I won’t feel bad about missing their set tomorrow.
