btw, the first two tracks are some of the most moving and powerful music pieces/songs I have ever heard - amazing how such subdued music can be so profoundly affecting

i havent listened to a lot of ambient this year - mostly In Summer - but with the weather changing I'm drifting back towards stuff like Mark McGwire etc. What are the best albums from this yeaR?

 

haven't heard that much from this year but...

some are on the drone side of things, others on the classical side, all are amazing

no, sorry bro - I promise you my listening habits are not that interesting anyways... also, a lot of my listening at home is on vinyl records... well, at least it was before I moved here...

CONTENT: added that Huerco S album to a post above... it looks like I actually have listened to quite a few 2016 ambient albums LOL

 

I love old releases by Huerco S and keep forgetting to grab that one even though I've heard nothing but stellar things, def grabbing it

Just wanted to pop in and say *THANK YOU* for all the recommendations in here. I've added pretty much everything mentioned. So far I've really, really loved Hyper Light Drifter and Sakura. I'm planning on listening to the Ambarchi record soon, since it's gotten some raves in here.

 

Lorenzo Senni - Persona (Warp, 2016)

not ambient but a synth record with no drums probably fits better in here than anywhere else. it is also one of the best things I've heard all year. If you like OPN at all, get on this
