Loved the Godfather reference in the new episode.

Fully on Team Victor now.

 

Show is firing on all cylinders

 

That opening scene was so good.

 

Another good one. Love that they're taking the time to focus on Victor and not just half assing his character.

 

The moment I realized we were seeing a flashback and seeing what he lost was heartbreaking. And the PTSD scene in the club; dude's been through some hard shit.

It's good that we're seeing Riddler's attack from the perspective of the average man on the street, to really sink in how cruel and evil it was.

 

Yeah it was a great way to present it. I first started off by feeling disappointed that Vic is doing what he is if he had that family/friends, then when the bombs went off and I realized...great framing.

 

Premium effing TV this is

 

My favorite episode so far. Echoing what's already been stated - seeing the impact of the flood + Vic dealing with the aftermath is really great stuff.

 

I also really love the argument between Oz and Victor at the end.

I love that Victor doesn't mince words, probably because he thinks he's going to die anyway so it doesn't matter what he says. That "fuck you" when Oz dissed his father despite Oz just having held a gun to his head.

And then Oz, who I think is weirdly being absolutely sincere when he says Victor could have left at any time and was never a hostage despite the fact that Oz has threatened Victor's life multiple times now. I think it speaks more to his instability than any attempt at gaslighting.

Speaking of his instability, I totally thought he was going to kill Vito in the hotel, and I totally thought Sofia was going to let him. I was on edge the whole time.

 

I think i'm in love with Cristin Milioti. Some of her delivery and facial expressions are so harrowing. She is so great in this role.

I wonder if they are gearing up to her having gone away for Alberto's crimes? I don't remember exactly but feel like it was alluded that Oz had some involvement in her going away.

 

I think he just ratted her out. It wouldn't make sense if Alberto was the Hangman and she was just framed. Let her just be a weird serial killer.

 

Cristin Milioti is just the coolest

She's fucking amazing in this. Haunting, direct, yet cool, calm and collected where she needs to be. Ignoring her scream in episode 1 in this.

She's outshining Farrell, who is fucking excellent as well. Can't believe this is the same fucking dude from The Banshees Of Inisherin and Horrible Bosses. Mad acting chops.

 

Agreed!! She is amazing and I been a fan of hers ever since I first saw her in How I Met Your Mother years ago and she made such an impact and just been a fan of work ever since and to go toe to toe acting wise with Farrell an Oscar nominated actor and stealing scenes from him is fucking impressive!! I hope her, Farrell and the guy that plays Victor and the show itself gets serious awards recognition.

 

Holy fucking Cristin Milioti.

 

I want her to win. Both in the show and in reality because fuck, what a performance.

 

Two things I like about the revelations tonight.

I like that they didn't go the route of having Hangman be Alberto and Sofia just taking the fall for him, because that would be dumb. And even though they didn't just have Sofia be the Hangman, I still like the way this played out, with her being forced to take the fall for her father instead. Fucking cold as ice. Made the ending to this episode so satisfying.

I also like that Penguin's ratting her out was a lot more innocuous than expected. I thought, assuming she really was the Hangman, that Penguin just ratted out her crimes. Instead it was just that she met with a reporter. I believe Oz when he says he had no idea things would escalate the way they did. Honestly, who would? But in retrospect it makes perfect sense, from a clinical, emotionally detached point of view. Father of the year.

And I loved, loved, the ending sequence. I felt the whole time she was at the dinner that she was going to kill them all, and then when she asked the little girl to camp in the greenhouse with her, I knew for certain it was happening. Just a brilliantly executed plan.

Mark Strong would have been a great Falcone if I didn’t have John Turturro in my head the whole time he was on screen, haha.

 

Any reason why they couldn't get him to reprise the role?

 

finally a Cristin centered episode. this is what i've been waiting for. brilliant.
