Along The Shadow is half killer half filler for me. The half that kills really goes hard though!

I used to listen to Along The Shadow the summer it came out (May 2016) I had moved to a new city and was still working in the old city so it was about a 50 minute commute or so, one way. I would listen to it every day on the drive home and just was like.. "I cant believe we actually got a full length with Anthony.." fast forward to now and im like "I cant believe we get more with Cove." I just love Saosin. All the eras and records.

Every song on ATS sounds the same, it all just blends together. It's probably due to Green's singing style

  4. Along the Shadow is an incredibly good album all the way through. But I just feel like a Saosin apologist at this point, I love all three full lengths and Translating the Name.

  5. Just watched this. Sounds like they might start playing in a lower key from now on?

The eps and the self-titled are still absolutely some of the best music to come out of the scene at the time.

The other two LPs have their moments but just aren’t anywhere near as good in my eyes.

For me, it's all just right place, right time, associated with the right memories, etc - at the time, the EP and first album were game-changing, hugely influential bodies of work, but by the time the others were out, they were not pushing the genre anymore and the sound was everywhere anyway.

It's a bummer, because they're clearly still super talented and I hope they still enjoy playing the songs, but they're going to have to really push themselves in some less-safe territory to ever really regain that kind of attention. But that's the same story for a lot of bands from this era - play the hits for the money or try something new and possibly crash and burn (again), it's gotta be such a tough spot to be in.

I went to that show. I saw them with AG last year and Cove was so much better. It was also funny that Cove did a bunch of old Anthony songs but Anthony didn't do anything from the time Cove was doing vocals.

They did overpack the venue. About 20% of the floor was blocked off (they put all their gear behind the sound booth) and that made the space for people much smaller when the show was already sold out anyway. Still a great show.

100%, I just think the biggest difference is 'now' compared-to 'then' is how they were really pushing the bar during that era as you said. The world has moved on from that whole era unfortunately. Much to my distaste as I love 00s music, such an incredible time to have been alive.

This is how I feel as well. ATS would be a great EP but as a record - it loses steam around halfway through.

I’ve only listened to ATS once in its entirety. I remember enjoying the back half more than the first half.

  16. I’d say ATS is actually their most diverse but I can see how Anthony’s singing style may give it another impression

    Ep > ats > st > grey > isosg

I loved the self titled when it came out. And still enjoy it. But Lyrically it just doesn’t come close to the AG output.

would like one more heavy, shorter tracklist album vs a cove ST v2

According to Anthony Green he will also be recording vocals for the next album with Cove. I’m interested in how they will be able to mix.

ATS is super solid. Over time I've also come to love In Search of Solid Ground. Underrated album and got way too much hate. Would love it on vinyl.

I know Beau stated he’d LIKE to get Anthony on the album but I’d also be interested in seeing where Anthint actually said he would

I don't have the stories saved, but when fans asked him whether he was still in the band he replied in a IG story that he will still be featured on the upcoming album. This was around March/Feb this year.

Is this confirmed somewhere? I was just having a conversation a few minutes ago about how Anthony will physically be there and surely he'll get up there with Saosin too, but you never know. I'm super on the fence about going this weekend, Saturday is the day I'd be most likely to go but I'm ambivalent about 90% of the lineup.
