I am also glad re: the documentary that it named Brock Lesnar in the Janel Grant allegations and showed Vince’s alleged including of trafficking her to Lesnar as a part of his contract and his enthusiasm for it, as I hope that quashes any thoughts TKO/WWE might have about bringing him back

i think placing fault on the wrestlers isn't fair they're making their money however they can get it in a profession where time isn't guaranteed. it is for sure tony khan's fault he's losing out on retaining ppl, the free agent thing is a crapshoot though can't really blame anyone, if I was a free agent wrestler rn i'm sure i'd choose WWE over AEW even though AEW has the better in ring show IMO

Can he play Shooter's son or nephew? That role would be great for him.

I mean injuries definitely hurt the Lucha Bros at times. Fenix has been hurt a ton which is also why his time is getting extended. It’s also probably not a good idea to negotiate before your contract is over. That is probably the biggest reason is doing what he is doing. WWE has done the same thing tons of times to keep talent away from other companies and even if I don’t like it, I can see why TK has to kind of stand his ground. The only person I really hope stays in AEW is Garcia because his ceiling in WWE is much lower.

They’ll never say otherwise, but I guarantee that anyone coming to the end of their deal at whatever company will be negotiating before their deal is up. Their agents or reps or whoever will be sorting that deal way before it’s over.

Nah I am looking and negotiating with a new employer before my contract is up. You know how many interviews I’ve taken on company time? Wrestling companies genuinely do not care about the wrestlers, look out for your own always.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

If you want it to be treated like a sport where you can’t join a different “team” and negotiate while under contract, then you better have a union. If you don’t want that, then you should expect your workers to be negotiating ahead of time and looking out for themselves because companies sure as hell aren’t

People seem to forgot wrestlers are people, just like us at work we take job interviews and discuss other wages on company time. This situation in the industry is no different

At least the Lucha Bros are getting paid to do nothing. I don’t really feel that bad them. They signed a contract that has terms. They should have known better. This has been done many many times by WWE in the past and is a pretty standard thing in the industry.

One good thing I could see about this is hopefully talents will negotiate clauses like that to not be in their contract. Talents need to empower themselves and not sign contracts that have unfavorable conditions.

My company should not be able to add the time I took off because I was sick to the end of my contract. Negotiating before actually leaving is an industry standard. How did Nash and hall jump to WCW or Luger showing up on both raw and nitro in the same night.

That was 30 years ago and WWE has had much more strict contracts since then. WWE has been doing this shit to talents for years so you can thank them for contracts like this. It’s part of their anti competitive practices they came up with to hurt the competition by hoarding talent. Its a BS practice but let’s not pretend TK actually came up with this stuff lol

Also, why are a few people in here keep bringing up wwe in this situation? People in this thread have never defended wwe when they have done this shady shit. It’s an industry thing.
