Match can be zone. It can also be man. Confusing man match for man doesn't matter when only looking at man vs. zone.

 

No, man match is just a different kind of zone, that’s distributed based on what kind of route the WR is running. It is not man-to-man. The word “man” literally means something different in that context and that’s where confusion comes from. In practice it is a zone coverage that’s based on reading route combinations rather than distributing the field in terms of yards
