The Last Shadow Puppets - Everything You've Come To Expect

I've been listening to a lot of Brand New's "Leaked Demos 2006" tape, Troye Sivan's "Blue Neighbourhood," The Japanese House's "Clean EP & "Pools to Bathe In EP, and Jack Garratt's "Phase." These are probably my most listened to albums lately.

Thanks to you guys on here, I am currently listening to a mixture of:

    Cardiknox "Portrait"
    Pinegrove "Cardinal"
    Polyenso "Pure In The Plastic"
Valley Maker "When I Was a Child"

The last month has almost exclusively been The 1975, Stromae, and Namika. That last Stromae album is a banger for sure. Looking forward this month to the new M83 & Blaqk Audio

This all comes in somehow similar style in a few aspects, so I've been hanging to a playlist with new releases from Polyenso, Rare Futures, and JMR, they're all really interesting!

Polyenso would probably take the cake and come as a complete blast for me, but the downside is that I'd heard half of those songs before my first listen. Same with JMR, who's just changed his style completely (previously Aaron Marsh produced his LP under his full name - Joshua Michael Robinson, and it was kinda folk-ish). Aaand if somebody still doesn't know what Rare Futures is, that's a new name for Matt Fazzi's Happy Body Slow Brain, it's pretty groovy! :))

Oh yeah, and I didn't forget about them as well, I'm just in a different mood today, but this record might be one of my favorites this whole year!

Also new Tancred LP is really good and fun. How I wish I could see them currently touring together with other amazing bands!

I can imagine DIIV not translating well in a live setting. Band like that is so dependent on their sound mixer and at the mercy of venue acoustics. What really struck me about their record was the sense of space it had. There are these little pockets to get lost in and the mix is really dreamy. Definitely a big stand out for me in 2016.

I like the new Weezer but I think I prefer EWBAITE. I could have used 1-2 more crunchy power pop numbers like LA Girlz. But it's consistent--moreso than Raditude or Hurley. Endless Bummer is a pretty wonderful closer.

I can't stop listening to the Trey Songz cover of "Life on Mars?" It's one of the most beautiful things I think I've ever heard.
