Because you don't know your future needs. And with Medicare, if it's still around, you're screwing future taxpayer. So thanks for being selfish.

you realize that when people need to go to the dr and they can't afford to go to a regular family dr when they get a sinus infection they go to the ER when it gets bad, that costs the tax payers money because they also can't afford the ER bill so they go to the hospital that has to see them. that gets passed to all of us anyway. If we all had care when we needed it there wouldn't be so much risk involved.

Yeah, I'm legally blind with glaucoma as the driving force behind that vision loss. I'd rather pay out of pocket at the moment. I get penalized for that in this system? When you have doctor appt's monthly and need quite a bit of medicine you get a different feel for healthcare. Just my opinion

Already explained it. Take a read if you're interested in the how and what and why of things, instead of blindly lashing out. Figure out from there what you support and who to vote for because of those beliefs.

And when you can't pay for it then we get to pay for it.

Another thing I think we need to understand and fine-tune is our hatred. This may seem antithetical to people who profess a love of tolerance, however, hatred is necessary and can be useful when directed properly. It is, I think, one of the mechanisms by which justice is achieved. Hatred is rational and beneficial. It is defines our relationship to the external world. It isn't that we need less hatred, we need better hatred that is directed towards fascists, CEO's, police officers and those who would do us harm.

You wouldn't be able to pay massive amounts of medical costs, so those costs would have to be shifted to the people who do utilize our health care system (medical care is provided disproportionately to impoverished people).

I haven't been to a doctor in 3 years for anything other than a check up. So yes, yes I am.

I'm sorry that you're sick and having a shitty experience with your health care. I'm happy to help you find a better plan. As someone who has also been very sick, I have a very different vantage point.

Because literally everyone uses health care at some point in their lives. And if you go out tomorrow and get in a horrific crash or are given a cancer diagnosis and you can't pay your bills because you didn't have insurance, your tab is picked up by tax payers and the people around you with insurance have to pay higher premiums.

Or you're delaying appropriate preventative care and are going to be a more expensive patient in the future.

Can I just say I love how many people in here get basics of health care. Makes my cynical heart happy.

    Checkups are preventative care.

Class? Rightly or not, it seems like a lot of his white voters view themselves as economically disadvantaged. And while low-income voters did go for Clinton in the majority, they swung way back toward Trump compared to 2012. Make the platform about economic opportunity. Make real honest-to-god commitments to re-training workers in dying industries and make that a platform centerpiece. I dunno.

Lol by getting check ups I'm delaying appropriate preventive care?

Three years isn't that long realistically. If you'd rather not have the safety net of insurance for when something does happen whatever. But many people require the safety net of insurance because they don't want to drown in debt when something does happen. And something will happen eventually. People get sick. People get in accidents. People need insurance

    Pretty much.

I don't use everything our taxes pay for. But hey, kids need an education.
