Insane. I paid $40 with fees to see Deftones at a 1,200 cap theater 9 years ago.

My oh my how times have changed

It’s great knowing I’m going to be broke months from now trying to buy re-sale tickets for all these shows in the winter and spring.

Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing, I can't swing that show right this moment, which means either I don't go or I pay triple I suppose.

good on deftones for being able to grift people out of 800 for m&g in 2024/2025.

For me it’s mainly because I always opt for floor seats or low level seating. Nosebleeds are a no-go for me because of my fear of heights.

What is/was Lyte? Ticket reselling platform?

I remember I used it to buy resale tickets for The Format and Pitchfork Festival, but it seems it was also the main ticket selling platform fir lther events (Cant remember if The Format tickets were sold throught it or just the resale)

Popped my head back into the Deftones MSG presale, and all the tickets are mostly gone. They opened up additional sections on the side of the stage for "limited view seating."

Seriously good for them. Just 2 years ago they were doing a 3,500 cap venue here (granted, even at the time it felt like an undersell). And now they're selling out 16,000 seats at the most famous arena.

I think I have Stockholm Syndrome but any GA Floor price under $250 is like...a bargain these days.

Relative to today's market, yes $180 for a GA floor ticket at MSG is a bargain. And really even pre Covid I'd say 180 is what I'd expect for floor seats at an arena. Really its the lower bowl also being 180 and the upper deck being 160 that makes my jaw drop. There used to be much larger gaps in price between tiers at these shows.

But it's also just crazy how quickly we got here. I still laugh about how in 2018 I went to Taylor Swift's reputation tour, sitting a few rows in front of her b-stage, and the tickets were only $160. Would that have even gotten you the last row on the Eras tour?

My friend got an extra floor ticket so I guess I am going to see Deftones after all. Checked right now for the LA date and mostly everything is gone. A bunch of scattered seats in the 200s is all that's left

I have a (albeit not confirmed suspicion) that especially for shows with a GA Floor, the lower bowl seats close to the stage are actually MORE in demand given that it gives people a great view and for shows that cater to an older crowd, allows them to have guaranteed real estate and not have to deal with riff raff on the floor.
