Again I think you're missing that people here have indeed been talking up/supporting other people voting for a candidate that actively wants to stop those things, while at the same time attacking others willing to vote for Harris as like nazis and shit lol.

 

That’s why I say he’s “mad at some people online” - if you really are hung up on the fact that like 6 people on this website for 40 year old pop punk fans don’t immediately leap to recite the hegemonic talking point in this country, idk what to tell you.

 

I mean I guess those folks can speak for themselves, but I don’t see much if any “Jill Stein Rulez” posting in here. Mostly it’s people saying - correctly, in my opinion - that Dems like AOC fixating on Jill fuckin Stein feels like a deflection from their own shortcomings as a party and the precarious place they’ve put themselves in by actively alienating a potential key constituency. “Hey Muslim voters/leftists considering voting for Jill Stein, have you considered that her message on Putin may mean that maybe she’s actually not better than the people actively engaged in genocide?” is a losing message to those constituencies.

Personally, I’d tell people to look at the PSL candidates instead of Stein.

I remember this, apparently better than you do? Freud was the one coming in antagonistically, pretending that taking a hardline “genocide bad” stance is dismissive to trans Americans. This in spite of the fact that a lot of the posters vocal about Palestine are also vocal about wondering where the concrete support of queer Americans is. (And also Haitian Americans, etc.)

(btw, to the “groupthink” point, we’ve also got a mix pf electoral responses to our current moment. Some users have been able to voice their intentions to still vote Harris against Trump, in a way that doesn’t get backlash from those who will not.)

This whole recurring thing truly stinks of classic, stereotypical “whataboutism,” instead of wrestling with one’s preferred candidate participating in an indefensible generational evil.

I think that delineation and the stance overall makes sense, particularly when looking the governments of each country. The Russian Federation only being around since the 90's while Israel has been since '48. It misses some historical context in regards to Russia's other governments and its relationship with Ukraine but I understand why you would draw the line there.

Also finally got around to reading Rise and Kill First: The Secret History of Israel's Targeted Assassinations and yeah that is an eye opening read to the true scope of their state sponsored assassination program.

 

How is Ukraine ignored? Does the United States not support them? Is the US sanctioning Russia? Now compare it to Gaza. Seriously, write out the comparison. Trust me we would not be harping on Gaza if they had the support from the US that Ukraine does.
