If you think what’s going on in Ukraine is in any way comparable to Gaza you need to get your brain scanned fucking immediately

I think people who speak out vehemently against one and refuse to speak out against the other need to get their brain scanned fucking immediately....but if they're a national politican doing so, then I assume they have some special interests to protect and/or aren't very honest about their feelings on one or the other...and that goes for a lot of current sitting Dems!

 

Yeah I think they're running the playbook UK Labour just ran in the most recent general election where Starmer won by being as vague and selectively silent as possible. It might win them the election, but we all just saw in the UK what the aftermath of not pushing back on this type of racist misinfo leads to.

I think that in many ways Kamala is a mirror of Starmer and will govern like him. For example just today it came out Starmer is collaborating with the Italian fascist PM on how to stop migrants.

I don't thinkthere's anyone in here who would refuse to say what Israel is doing is wrong or that Bibi needs to be thrown in jail. But they've been pretty clear that there are other issues important to them that make it prudent for them to vote for Harris over Trump even if they dislike the stance she's taking on Israel thus far.

 

Again, when you talk about Putin I believe you’re basically getting what you want from the US government vis a vis Ukraine which has been awash in weapons and cash from the US for the duration of the conflict, whereas our government is doing the opposite of what we want on Palestine AKA committing genocide against it. So by creating this false equivalency between the two, what you’re really saying is “i need you to say you think it’s bad otherwise your position on the genocide we’re doing is undermined.”

 

Well tbf, concerning Stein herself, she's basically saying the US Gov should not be helping Ukraine out IIRC, which I think is what would have people questioning how much of her stance on Palestine is genuine vs. just part of the grift/using it as a wedge issue.

 

She’s funding an active genocide if the most you can muster up on that is “I dislike the stance she’s taking here but I’m gonna vote for her anyway” sorry but that’s embarrassing and I gotta question how much you really dislike her stance. Even then - and I’m not saying this to the benefit of Jill Stein, because I go my whole life without thinking of her except when she’s brought up in this thread - comparing conventional warfare between two sovereign states with their own functional militaries to a genocide perpetuated against a population in an open air prison is… not remotely equivalent in my opinion.

 

we got a 649 page report on all the people killed and the first FOURTEEN PAGES are babies under a year old. I’m supposed to take “I dislike her stance” as an acceptable position? I’m infuriated and you all should be too.

 

But, again, I think we're wasting too much time on Stein in here haha. She's a terrible candidate and deserves to get dunked on here and there, but I don't think she needs any active discussion or breath wasted on her. Maybe if something changes, but I just don't see her being a major player this election. Maaaaybe she can be a spoiler in Michigan due mostly to the Dems lack of better stances on Israel, but I don't think that would cost them the election. even if Dems lose MI, the calculus remains the same: 2 of PA/AZ/Georgia, as well as holding Nevada

(yes technically losing PA and Michigan and holding AZ/Georgia means a tie, but I'm still refusing to accept that as a possibility because I am not looking forward to that hell on earth possibility)

There really isn't. But some people don't understand behind whatever they've got going on in their head. The amount of people in here cheering on Israel is literally z e r o.

 

I get the urge to revert to the "two conventional militaries" thing, but there have been a lot of stories that have come out of Ukraine of Russians basically shipping Ukrainians, including kids, off to prisons inside Russia IIRC, and there's been a decent amount of rhetoric about eliminating the Ukranian identity and all that...like, the Ukranians might be better able to defend themselves (in no small part thanks to our help), but the language the Russians have been using there have been a littttttle bit ethnic cleansing-y, to say the least.

 

I would. I'm voting to keep Trump out of office more than I'm voting for Kamala and what she's about.
