I don't think we're getting a black president that quickly after White nationalists helped win Trump this one

lessons like "dont run a historically unpopular candidate who has trouble articulating a clear reason or message behind her bid and pray people think she's 'good enough'"

  6. True, but what they've also had for as long as I've voted is a base problem. Because a lot of us are very far left. But the country isn't. But there's a lot of people in the middle that do identify as democrats (it's why the demo is about D+4). Now, as the Republicans just showed? They'll vote for the party almost no matter what. They'll turn out for anyone. Democrats won't. So, you alienate the left, you're fucked, you alienate the center, you're fucked.

    It's not a great position.

her message pretty much came down to "im not him." thats why her team wanted to go up against trump. they thought that would be enough. it wasnt.

  10. Yeah, I was thinking about that. I think he may eye a run for the top spot.

Seriously next time we have control we need to start blowing stuff up. The electoral college did not do its supposed job and 2 of the past 3 Republican winners did not win the PV. Would this ever be possible to move to popular vote model or is that not possible

I'd like him with booker or Warren as vp

Or the other way around. I'd like to see primaries with those 3 at least. I like O'Malley too, he's a big climate change guy.

  13. So my proposal for it was to start by getting Texas on board with it. I think that it needs a constitutional amendment, which is going to be hard to get ratified by the smaller states. I dunno. Every time we get control republicans sit on their hands and take the favorability hits. Then dems try it and get voted out of office for it. Or at least that's the cycle I keep seeing.

how do we get rid of the electoral college? is it even possible? i feel like it needs to be done, but i can already hear the right calling foul because it's been working for them

  15. I've been championing a Warren run for a while, so, I am keeping my eye on that. Wonder if she needs a new aide. I'll keep her fucking emails under god damn wrap for four years and that can be my only job.

My professor today said we're more likely to get free college tuition than repeal the electoral college anytime soon. I guess it's too important to the small states

Needs a constitutional amendment. It's basically imposssible for a decade minimum and extremely unlikely even after that

I think some combination of Warren/Booker/Castro would be a strong ticket for the dems tbh.
