I won't be surprised, I think the last time and I could be wrong that Lionsgate had a legit box office hits was the Hunger Games prequel, Saw X and John Wick 4 but as for original IP.. honesty I am not sure.

Plus Dave Bautista also said he has high hopes that The Killer's Game will launch a franchise for him and do well for his production company so they could make indie films as well wants to prove he can be a box office draw on his own.

It got bad reviews and was barely marketed, much like those other two movies. Whoever thought those were good ideas were way, way off.

at least theatrically, i can't really think of much re: original IP. wonder how much they draw in from releasing most of A24's material on physical media here in the US

oh wait, Coppola is fronting the marketing costs for this, so maybe Megalopolis won't doom Lionsgate (unless you count a somewhat tarnished critical goodwill), just Coppola.

“Am I Racist?” made more than “Killer’s Game”. Good lord.

Did anyone else know that there was a comedy movie based Henry Hill’s life in the Witness Protection Program, and it came out one month before Goodfellas, and it was written by Nora Ephron, who at the time was married to Nick Pileggi, the screenwriter for Goodfellas

That’s so crazy. I know the trailer for that movie very well. It was attached to the Gremlins 2 VHS. Didn’t know that’s what it was about til now.

Woah, you mean to tell me that spending $10 a month on multiple movie tickets when a single movie ticket costs $17+ wouldn't turn a profit????
