there was also a photo on someone's IG stories yesterday (maybe Emily, maybe the LP band account) and I thought I noticed Brad on the couch of the bus or whatever the setting was, which I found interesting

  3. Interesting how? He made it clear he's still in the band

He's on the couch though, and as we all know, couches are symbolic of being in the doghouse, perhaps from a conflict of interest? Either that, or he's allied himself with JD Vance.

The UK date sold out fast. 100,000 people in the queue. I'd say they could have done Wembley there.

I wasn't in the queue for it but I knew a few people that were and they couldn't get tickets from Ticketmaster and AXS, the queues were fucking insane, honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they do stadium dates in the UK next year

I saw that for the LA show there were ALOT of tickets for 40 bucks on stubhub the day of. And for the Brooklyn show in a few days, it looks like half the venue is on resale (and dropping in price).

There's definitely demand to see them but most of those 100k in the queue are probably scalpers thinking they can flip for a profit. And the scalpers in LA and NY are probably mostly taking a loss.

They would also put you in the queue without you needing to put in the pre-sale code, so a lot of people wound up joining the queue and immediately leaving once they reached the front of the line

It's crazy to see the tide shift to if we aren't fans of Emily we aren't real Linkin Park fans on social media. They say we are fans of Chester like that's a bad thing. I'll take it.

Giant band subreddits are so unhinged lol

Threads from the subreddit keep getting suggested to me and they're almost all entirely unhinged

Any fandom specific subreddit is absolutely awful.

Fandoms are unhinged in general, but I gotta be honest, I'm not sure what exactly is unhinged about the point they're trying to make.

I think it's more unhinged that they even feel the need to make it; it should be understood that bands can do whatever the hell they want with their name and music.

try being in a subreddit for a TV show just to solve puzzles for a scavenger hunt, only to be inundated with post after post of people asking the stupidest questions about the show

Them not changing their name is the least of my concerns with this version of the band.

  23. Snark subreddits are somehow worse, but yes, fandoms are second worst

The Linkin Park drama is now to the point where even Charlie (a big YouTuber) is talking about it...

Reddit is the worst... I miss the old days of the internet where people would have message boards (I'm so grateful for @Jason Tate still running a forum in 2024) for whatever they were interested in because then things could at least have some organization... For example, say I'm into pizza or I want to find information about fans (I need to get a new fan, my box fan died the other week so that's on my mind (I did get a new one, but it was too loud so I need to find a quieter one...)). I could look up those things, find a community and I either connect with them or pop in for a few minutes to get some information I need and pop out, and it was just so simple. Nowadays I'd go to one of the subreddits and it would just be a huge unorganized mess of topics ranging from helpful to "why is this even here?" then they have that weird karma/voting system where people can decide they don't like your opinion, or you go against the grain and just downvote you... just discourages sharing of differing opinions.

I'm not even going to touch about the mess that is discord... I like it for the communication (with friends and some communities I'm in), but still enjoy the classic message board/forum set up and hope those return in the future.
