An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Cut Me Off and See You both fucking rip

Yeah I especially really love See You, the little riff before the verses is so cool and the chorus has a nice melody

Every Other Weekend reminds me of Neighborhoods. The chorus sounds like it could fit on that album. (This is a compliment)

I do think there are some ideas throughout the 8 new songs that accomplish what Neighborhoods failed to do.

One Night Stand has big Neighborhoods vibes too. What could've been. But glad we're getting such better songs now.

At the end of One Night Stand can anyone interpret what Mark says after "I gave it all and it didn’t mean nothing, The sky could fall..." ?

He's saying "Tom actually listened to the final mix of these songs"

Sorry, Mark's backing vocals aren't in the lyric video haha

Agreed. I said this before, but that era to me was "merging AvA and +44 but make it blink"... Neighborhoods didn't do that very gracefully but these songs do it really well.

That album was just very somber, overly serious and low-energy (production style made that even worse). These songs are kind of like if you injected some of the fun and liveliness back into them during that era.

Yup, rather than it being a combination of sounds, it was mostly “here are the +44 songs and here are the Angels and Airwaves songs.” They’ve gotten much better at fusing their influences over time. Better production and all 3 members seeming to give the same amount of attention to the process cleaned up those issues.

I think all 3 guys are comfortable making whatever kind of music they want to now. Whether it’s a throw back old school type sounding blink song or mixing AVA/+44/Simple Creatures/Travis’ stuff together or new wave Blink Wave sounding songs. Blink music can be whatever they want it to be.

Again I think having outside voices in the room (specifically Aaron Rubin) is a big help too.

Just looked at the picture Travis posted when they were recording OMT and looks like One Night Stand, No Fun, Take Me In and Every Other Weekend were written during those sessions.

We know Can’t Go Back was written before their tour. Curious to see when the others were written/recorded.

Btw, I want to know if it's just me hearing the pixies "where is my mind" mixed with this famous Kindgom Hearts songs in 'Take Me In' or if anyone else hears it?

You can hear this KH song in the prechorus

It's not a bad thing, I think it's neat, but just wondering if I'm the only one that hears it.

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

I'm with you on the bridge of "Take Me In" being goofy. If you're gonna make your voice sound like that, transpose it to a guitar or synth part or something.

Part II is awesome. The more I listen to it the more I hear the experimentation and it reminds me so much of Untitled as far as feelings I get while listening.

I experimented and added Fell In Love and Blink Wave to Part II…aaaaand it works. I feel like those two songs fit well with the new tracks more than on Part I.

Every Other Weekend feels like a sibling to Fell In Love and I absolutely adore the pair.

  19. new game. make two cohesive 13/14 song albums with every OMT track haha.

I've been waiting for this, ha. Except I was expecting people to post their new 12 song OMT with their best takes from Part 1 and Part 2.

I made a 17 song playlist that fits my usual gym lunch workout. The purists would be mad though lol

Take out all of the short songs from Part 1, replace "Fell In Love" with "Every Other Weekend". 14 song album. Done.

Some of these songs just clicked for me today.

In the last year we got 27 new songs from blink and a huge world tour. How lucky are we?
