If GM wants to set themselves up for what failed them in 2008, then give them that rope and let them hang themselves as a company once and for all.

Lol didn't see this mention before I saw his post...yeah you can get subsidies for OOP costs if you're poor, and if there isn't a plan in your state that is less than 8-10% of your income (forget the amount), you're exempt from the individual mandate.

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

Could someone dumb down the 14th amendment for me, and explain Trumps intentions? I understand this includes granting citizenship to those born in this country, segregation laws, and the black vote? Can he seriously repeal a constitutional amendment through executive order? I don't get this stuff...

no he cannot repeal an amendment via executive order. it requires a long process (2/3 of both chambers of congress, and then 3/4 of state legislatures). it wont happen as it stands today.

    Evolution not revolution

In May 2016 Trump told a conference in Bismarck, North Dakota, that he would "cancel the Paris climate agreement and stop all payments of US tax dollars to UN global warming programmes".

This is EXACTLY what the world needs right now.

"Donald Trump is a fascist. We shouldn’t be afraid of the word: it’s simple and accurate, and his fascism is hardly unique; it’s just a suppurating outgrowth of the fascism that was already there. Still, this time it’s different. The fascisms of Europe in the 1920s and 30s, or east Asia in the 50s and 60s, or Latin America in the 70s and 80s were all the response of a capitalist order to the terrifying potency of an organised working class. Fascism is what capitalism does when it’s under threat, something always latent but extending in claws when it’s time to fight; it imitates mass movements while never really having the support of the masses. (In Germany, for instance, support for the Nazis was highest among the industrial haute bourgeoisie, and declined through every social stratum; look at Trump’s share of the voter per income band and see the same pattern. The workers didn’t vote for Trump, they just didn’t vote for Clinton either.) But today the organised working class is nowhere to be found. There’s no coherent left-wing movement actively endangering capitalism; the crisis facing the liberal-capitalist order is entirely internal. It’s grinding against its own contradictions, circling the globe to turn back against itself, smashing through its biological and ecological limits and finding nothing on the other side. This is the death spasm, a truly nihilist fascism, the fascism of a global system prickling for enemies to destroy but charging only against itself. There’s no silence in the final and total victory, just an endless war with only one side. It’s not entirely the case, as the slogan puts it, that the only thing capable of defeating the radical right is a radical left. The radical right will defeat itself, sooner or later, even if it’s at the cost of a few tens of millions of lives. We need a radical left so there can be any kind of fight at all."

Obamacare sucked for me as a lower middle class white male. It was $43/month when I was unemployed and the insurance was really good with 0 deductibles but $500/month for the worst plan available when I got a new job 2 weeks later. Just saying it did no favors to hard working Americans too poor to pay for it. Still thought they were on the right track though.

But, seriously, as infantile and futile as you may think it, we should make the inauguration the worst one ever.

    A DILAPIDATED BOAT! Prestigious

Looking at Infowars relishing in the victory. I wonder how long (or if at all) it will take for Alex Jones to turn on Trump. Dude has relied on pivoting his approach so he can attack whoever is in power for nearly 25 years, when Clinton was in he focused on Waco and OKC conspiracies trying to appeal to the militia movement, then when Bush was president he switched to focusing on left wing conspiracies like 9/11 Truth and talking about the JFK assassination and Henry Kissinger alot, For Obama he went to Tea Party shit, but now he's trying to be an Alt Right figure. When Trump does the same shit that Alex hated Bush for I hope people call him out on it.

After 8 years of (mostly) baseless attacks on Obama, I do hope the left and center take a nod from the other side. Pressing him on releasing his tax info; taking all his "promises" of first 100 day nonsense to task; Constitutional rhetoric on freedom of press, religion, and assembly; and finally for the love of all things right in this world - vetting and blocking a Supreme Court nominee that would be disastrous.

I'm genuinely concerned about the anti-intellectualism present in this election cycle. People don't care about policy. They care about rhetoric.
