Watched The Cleansing Hour since it was just starting on the Shudder tv thing when I went looking for something to watch and saw Kyle Gallner was in it lol.

was a decent possession film, a subgenre I’ve never been a big fan of overall aside from the classics.

damn yeah count me as a Poltergeist III enjoyer. got a little sloppy in the last 30 for reasons you can't really put on anyone involved, but some super creative and creepy effects and use of framing in it. genuinely well directed movie

love that Lara Flynn Boyle was playing a character called Donna lol, someone was a Twin Peaks fan on set

The screening I got to see tonight was The Substance and now I have a new favourite horror film of 2024.

    Incredible.

Without saying too much, can you drop any more information on it? Maybe a RIYL or some comparisons? I’m stoked and we are getting it here

I'd say go in knowing as little as possible haha.

I'm not great at RIYL's but it's definitely got some Cronenberg/body horror influence. There's some really great gory moments, its also way funnier than I expected. Margaret Qualley and Demi Moore are both amazing in it.

I’m debating on seeing Front Room tomorrow but I’ve heard/read such terrible things. Still interested in a couple of things.

It's just boring for a while but it has some really funny moments. It's hard for me to call it bad lol

I just love Brandy and Kathryn Hunter's performance

I agree. It started working for me when Astrid meets Jeremy.

I mostly enjoyed it but the script felt half-baked. There’s basically three big story threads and only one of them to me felt like it had a payoff that was fleshed out and not rushed to conclusion.

I had no idea it was set around/on Halloween though so that was dope.

Just watched Deadstream and holy shit that was a wild ride. Perfect combination of scares and laughs. Honestly the best combination I’ve seen in a horror comedy maybe ever.

  22. Dog Soldiers and Deadstream, while different in tone, both kick ass

my housemates were in the mood for some vampires tonight so we watched Daybreakers and Fright Night remake. the former is so good ideas-wise, one of the most creative vampire movies ever but man you can't beat that cast in Fright Night 11. Colin Farrell goat-tier hunky vampire in that
