Activity in thread much less today - football is back baby

 

I feel like weekends are pretty dead in general

Sucks for me since I have no life

 

I actually have no interest in talking about politics with anyone in the real world ever and the second someone tries to start (99% of the time to try and pick an argument) I’m just like alright cool and ignore them/don’t respond/or tell them to stop talking to me (nicely if at work)

 

And by “no interest” I mean “it would tank my mental health to a degree that puts my life in danger and I’m not exaggerating”

 

Haha that is absolutely 100% fair and I sympathize

 

it’s really funny though because late at night a few days ago I was saying how stupid voting is if you’re in a deep red or blue state and my gf started going on about how trump is taking away her rights and how horrible I am for not voting I was like yeah yeah okay and in the morning she was like “sorry for saying all that lib shit idk why I got like that” I was like people just wanna argue with me! it’s okay join the club

 

Every now and then I slip up in my family group text on a political rant and it gets real silent and then my mental health spirals about how my family isn't immediately like "hell yeah! We agree with you!!"

 

the only person I ever actually have good convos with besides my gf is my older brother everyone else is either too lib/centrist/right wing for me to care to bother

 

Most of my closest/core group of friends are all very political people, and we’re all more or less on the same page. My family is all almost entirely conservative/MAGA, and the people i work with are either liberal or MAGA.

 

My mom is always texting shit about how great Kamala is and then I get passive aggressive and say shit like "yeahh she's definitely the better alternative. I wish she would post a policy platform on her site tho instead of just running on 'Im better than Trump'!!"

 

I try my best to give gentle nudges haha.

 

I never start political conversations no good comes from them

 

Just got word from my Mom that her adopted sister just died from COVID-related issues (she’s had life long issues with asthma and diabetes). And we have my brother’s wedding this upcoming Saturday. Fuckk

Just seemed weird that she liked that one but none of the others that said to vote green. She did like another one that said "I hope the Dems lose Nevada"
