i understand why clinton and obama's speeches were what they were but we dont need bullshit bipartisanship right now. things are not going to be okay.

No, you are correct. I am a white male married with kids. I'll never deny that I don't have to worry about these things. Still doesn't take away how upsetting this is and angry I am about what I hear you, Jake and CoffeeEyez posted and are going through.
And the not very PC thing is true, I've always scuffed at PC outrage. Maybe it's because the cases I see are over reactions in the media like the Huge Mungus or Hawaii bobble head thing. Maybe it's because I don't live with hate or surround myself with it so like I said, my friends and family are in a bubble. Either way, I'm upset Trump threatening LGBTQ rights and such weren't pushed to the front of the debate and instead all I seemed for hear was "trump wants to build a wall and deport people and Hillary deleted emails" in the media. . .

 

I guess I meant if there was a tool for search local organizations outside of just Googling around, but if not, I'll spent some of today beginning to look around.

 

This is a strong message and I truly hope they believe that regardless of last night's outcome.

Here at least there are directories for local community groups and things like that. If you don't have that, your best bet probably is to google *name of party/cause you want to support* *location*

 

What Obstructionism? The GOP controls everything. The house, the senate, most state legislatures and governorships. None of these people will stop him. None of these people WANT to stop him.

My friend is a non-white immigrant who is very scared about the future. I'm sorry if that post came across as callous, I meant it in the sense of despair more than anything else. More of a "humor as medicine" thing.

Successful at what exactly Obama? Breaking apart immigrant families? Denying safety to refugees? Curbing LGBT rights? Breaking up stuff like the EPA and FDA? Turning into Russia'a lapdog?

 

Donald gets what Donald wants. That has seriously been his MO for most of his life. I don't think any amount of obstruction will do any good. Donald wins.

While I don't think we should necessarily be complacent, we do need to be realistic. He wields serious power and will have no problem doing most of whatever he pleases.

 

On my own part, I had founded a political analysis site with some politically active friends as writers a few months back... I'm planning to ramp up and make our voices heard. It may not mean much, but I want to at least provide a platform for people I care about to make their anger known, and my own as well. If some of you are interested feel free to message me.
