Scored the Project M variant through BrooklynVegan somehow but no complaints!

 

Same! SP must have been gone in seconds because I was reloading the page a few minutes before 12 and still wasn't fast enough. Tried ETR and then went to BV to grab the swirl.

 

It looks like the Smog (retail) variant is still available. Smartpunk still has that one up, for instance.

ETR was taken out of my cart but I got Smartpunk's smog variant, hell yeah! Looks like they do have Let Go Control on them too.

 

Hahaha I just got the email from ETR about Saosin. 45 minutes later. Bunch of sillies.

 

Damn, Saosin went fast, three places I lost it after trying to shove it in the cart, the rest had already sold out in the meantime. :(

Some wild VMP price increases. I think this is where I officially step off the train with them. Just too expensive.

 

Ive never subscribed with them, but I've snagged Fiona Apple's first 3 lps from them before they became readily available, a Miles Davis box set and a few others during their Black Friday sale. But I just found their records of the month lacking. I'm all for discovering new music but those prices aren't sustainable.

Giive me back my Columbia House and BMG Music Club subscriptions Hahaha.

Hell yeah. I'm surprised they haven't pressed Reznor/Ross's score for "Ninja Turtles" yet.

 

I subbed a few times for country records they pressed that had never been on vinyl before, and just kind of happen to have a 3-month subscription at the moment because of that. But I generally have felt like their prices aren’t worth it for things that exist elsewhere.

In addition to this price hike, they recently cut three of their six subscription offerings (including country) and eliminated shipping to foreign countries, so there’s a lot of speculation that they are in massive debt and are about to go belly up. Anyway, a good warning for folks who might have store credit to use that before they lose it!

 

did anything ever come of the bandbox situation? I just remembered I still had an album on order from them haha

 

Any idea when the Saosin band variant is going up? I missed it due to 9AM meeting. Seriously?!! they know people want this. Why the hell is it so limited? I hate this shit. Just make one variant with at least a 2-3K pressing and put more up with extended ship time if it sells out. I despise the exclusivity of this hobby sometimes.

EDIT: From what I've found, it seems the band variant may be limited to shows. Well fuck.

Yeahhh I actually was trying to see if there was any updates since the Spring. Nothing.

 

I seem to recall there being some posts in this thread about some of the records being done and someone (maybe the warehouse where they were being stored) trying to get those out to the people who bought them. I fortunately didn't have any outstanding orders with them when that went down.

Yeah, that's the worry, and it's why a lot of subscribers are cutting and running. A lot of people saying they're going to cancel preorders, too. It's weird, VMP seemed to be in a really solid place even a year or two ago.
