I seriously loved the rifts ha such a fun little mechanic. Definitely an out of nowhere hit for me.

 

the war within would’ve been the perfect wow expansion to slow down the leveling experience back to pre cata days with the amount of quests there are in the leveling zones, I’m gonna hit 80 with only one zone completely cleared out lol. I guess I’ll go around and wrap up the other zones eventually because a lot of the side quests are really really great but I would rather not be doing questing content at max level

 

I'm curious. Why are you against doing quests at max level? In case the cap gets raised? I've never played WOW, so this is like learning about a foreign language right now.

 

Because there’s a million other things I’d rather do first like dungeons, delves, PvP, raids when they come out, world quests, mount farming, reputation farming (which max level quests do help with admittedly), hell I’d rather even level a different character ive been playing the game for 18 years and historically by the time you reach max level you’ve done 90% of the available quests in the leveling zones and there’s no real benefit to completing them. That model has completely changed on me (I didn’t reach max level in the last two expansions) and I’m wondering if I’m able to adapt

 

@slowheart how have you handled the side quests? I did the campaign in a straight shot and got to 77 and now I’m doing all of Hallowfall, just hit 79 with 65-70% of it done

 

I don't follow. You're not able to do these other things you mentioned for some reason? Or are you forced to do the quests for some reason?

I'm worried I'm now dangling over an abyss by asking these questions.

If you’re at all interested in playing multiple games at a time the MMO genre is a bit of a nightmare to deal with which is why for the better part of my life I very rarely played any games that weren’t wow. There is an enormous amount of things to do in the game especially now 10 expansions in with systems baked into systems on top of systems wrapped in another system. Sure a lot of stuff becomes outdated but there’s still a huge community of collectible hunters that scour old zones and content for mounts and armor and what not. Some people level up every single class to max level (sometimes multiples of each class across both factions if they’re sick enough in the head) without even touching the max level content. But yeah when you do reach max level there’s just so much shit to do and you have to pick and choose what you want to spend your time on. The game has become a lot more pick up and play friendly so it is possible to play in short bursts but typically when I log on I’m in it for a good 2-4 hours. I have maybe 5 hours of free time after work and one of those is spent napping or just decompressing from work and another is spent on miscellaneous tasks I need to do. That leaves maybe 3 hours a night to play games and I have way more shit than just wow to play. The good news is I’m content with subscribing to wow for a month or two at a time and putting it down for a while between major updates, I used to just play all day every day for years on end. However this expansion is so good I can feel myself getting sucked in deeper than I have since Legion which doesn’t bode well for the slate of games coming out this fall

 

Man, that’s brutal! I’ve definitely had those moments where everything is going your way, and then one mistake ruins it all. I’ve rage quit a few times myself, especially when the game just doesn’t seem fair at the worst moments. You’ll get ‘em next time!

the best way I found was to level an alt to 80 with the remaining side quests since all rep is account bound now due to the warband.

You can ofc do them with one singular toon since some do award gear that scales etc

 

If you’re trying to prioritize your time

I’d definitely hit 80. I think Comp Stomp is the current BG event so you can farm an honor set for PvP in probably 3-4 hours. You’ll get your weekly quest at 80 which can be finished in two dungeons.

I’d advise not using any coffer keys yet for delves because the current max delve is tier 3. Next week they go up to 8. Where the keys will reward much higher loot ilvl.

Finished DS2 for the first time with a gentleman’s 341 deaths

 

I already had an argument with a friend this morning who says that 90’s/00’s CGI looks vastly better that that and not only did I baulk at that opinion and completely disagree on it, it was like he already made up his mind about it prior and just found something to nitpick about it to justify his stance.

Clearly you're having a rough time of things and I don't want to perpetuate that or get into an argument about this.

However, I can be totally alright with a film being geared toward kids and think this looks terrible. These are not mutually exclusive positions. Also take a little offense to the thought that thinking so is immature in some way.

Anyway, my main irk is that I'm a little tired of game adaptation plots being "real world people get sucked into the game". They did that for Monster Hunter too, and I think it's a lazy decision, frankly.
