My son started playing Warzone today. No mic of course. He is excited and doing pretty well.

 

Ironically on a normal day IGN have shown quite a lot of nuance in scoring games. Obviously I do not agree with every score they publish but from the „popular“ outlets they are doing the best by my account. Eurogamer are too out there for me, Gamespot are too harsh and Game Informer (RIP) were too enthusiastic. IGN strikes a fine middle ground.

they have absolutely published some absolute dogshit in the past (god hand, alien isolation) but largely I tend to agree with the way they score games.

plus as you said they break important stories and have the actual clout to break them into the mainstream.

I saw videos about it but is black ops 6 really bringing a feature where if you grab someone you can talk to them through the mic because if so that’s wild

 

yes it's a real feature in year of our lord 2024 lol

I would hope you know me on here well enough by now to not think I'm singling you out personally or that I wouldn't be giving the same response to anyone else.

But yes, I did take this in a different direction than you intended because I'm extremely salty about IGN and that's not on you, that's on me. And them. For being dicks.

 

IGN reviews every game, show, and movie that comes out and they’re usually short and to the point. Even if I end up not agreeing with the reviewer, it still gives me an idea of what I’m getting into. Idk, just my opinion.

 

the way I see it, and I say that as someone really likes IGN now, their bad rep is fucking earned and everyone who is on the fence about them is right to do so. trust is earned.

that said, Max Scoville is a national treasure.

 

Been meaning to play 'The Big Con' for a while. Started today and I'm really enjoying it so far. It's managing to do quirky dialogue without being grating, and at times it's genuinely funny. Love the art style too, reminds me of some 90s Nickelodeon cartoons. Currently on Game Pass.

 

To be fair, I actually haven't paid attention to IGN on a real level for a long time now, so I couldn't say if they're better now than they were back in the day. I kind of stopped caring to read what other people thought about games.

watching a let's play of outlaws, this seems awesome. the controls just don't feel good or what

feels perfetly fine. if I had to nit pick, the jump is a little delayed but it makes sense in context of Kay's moveset.
