You’re taking a victory lap on something you didn’t get victory on dude lol. Not only did your method of “keep tanking the poll numbers and ignore rhetorical change” not end up changing their Israel stance, but we never got to test out my theory because it didn’t happen. They got no bump in polls or any political advantage out of doing it, and mostly just people tearing them apart on both sides of the issue for it, soyou say they were doing it to temper backlash, in what way did it accomplish that? It didn’t! In fact, as we all know, Biden’s numbers continued to tank after that to the point he had to drop out lol. Kamala’s numbers are much better so maybe the issue there was the messenger and not the message, but I very much doubt Harris’s higher poll numbers have much to do with statements made in December.

Biden has definitely proven way more stubborn/less mailable on Israel that I was hoping he’d be given his shift on other issues over the last 10-20 years, and I’m not sure why that is other than some of the stories that have come out since then talking about it. The rhetorical shift was a good first step, but it didn’t materialize into better action. It sucks. I know I wouldn’t feel high and mighty to try and call out others 9 months later if my ideas on how to approach the party and politics haven’t produced the results I want in those 9 months either!
