Here were my first impressions when listening to the songs:

All In My Head - Pretty cool with some surprises (that Mark opening verse with Tom in the background) and with ultimately it became what I expected when I heard the clips. A decent (non-offensive) pop punk that people can enjoy. I know people aren't fond of AvA, but I liked the AvA bridge personally... It's pretty neat to see them include elements from their other projects in these songs (plus as much as I like Ilan Rubin and Atom Willard, there's something about Travis drumming to an AvA like song that's pretty cool).

No Fun - Opening lyrics were pretty awful (I'm talking about him being at a rich girl's party line), but overall I'm loving this song A LOT more than AIMH. The energy in this song is so amazing, and I love how punk it actually ended up being. Honestly the chorus towards the end started giving me some Teenage BottleRocket vibes (because it sounds like something they'd write... just they'd probably having someone going "Woah-oh-oh-oh" or some other vocal line in the background along with the main lyrics of the chorus being "There's no fun anymore..." (I'm not going to type out the full chorus, but you get what I mean... (hopefully). Honestly, if I can, I might try to find the proper TBR song to compare the chorus to, but I'm not sure if I want to try digging through their stuff when I just want to enjoy new blink... Same for that "Take Me In" track where the chorus sounds like it could be a Bowling For Soup song (though I don't remember/know which one).

I'll probably update my thoughts later as I listen to them more (and more songs come out), but yeah... I'm happy with what we got and can't wait to hear the rest.

Personally I liked this pair of songs better than Cut Me Off and See You.

Just listened, totally fine songs that don’t belong on OMT. Happy these are B-sides.

I must confess that I wouldn't have been opposed to them swapping Fell In Love for like No Fun or AIMH... Though that's just my personal preference because I find FIL to be too poppy for my taste.

I do think in the main track list, putting “All In My Head” between “Dance With Me” and “Terrified” would have made for a great transition.

I don’t know, I’m still digging all of this stuff, to be honest. “No Fun” isn’t my favorite but I’m still glad they released it. The lyrics are goofy but I REALLY like the sentiment of the song.

The drums were fine last time. It's obviously a big step down from the tones Finn was able to capture, but were fine.

I’m sure all of these will be better than Fell In Love. Still think it was the biggest misstep on OMT.

New songs are neat but very much b-sides. I do wish they would put Cut me Off and and See You after Childhood and have all the post-album release songs together.

  12. "fell in love" is great, you ding dongs.

Not particularly impressed with either song. Meh. Tom's vocals and lyrics just aren't doing it for me like they used to.

I love when Tom writes about blink, but the blah-ness of the chorus of "No Fun" makes it pretty meh for me.

  16. it's in the lower half of my favorites on the album, but i think it's a fun song, and i definitely wouldn't feel the need to replace it with one of these new tracks.

I think it's also just a disappointing track 3. That first half is mostly just insane hit after hit...and that just seems like a phone-in break track way too early.

  20. The real question is do I scrobble these as "Part 2" or under the OMT album like I do for must "deluxe" albums.

    hmmm

Used to add everything under one album....but in recent years stopped most notably due to songs like Shame or Sparkle showing up under the Futures album and I just couldn't have that anymore since it's an untouchable classic.

I use a site to auto-populate artist playlists for Spotify and I love that it adds standard versions and then adds additional deluxe version songs under deluxe so it looks like a separate thing, as God intended.

These are fine, but glad they didn’t make the cut for the original release. The chorus in All in My Head and the riff on No Fun are the best parts of these songs.

Has anyone had the experience of thinking the little specks on the omt album art is dirt on your phone screen? that shit has gotten me so many times when i am playing the new singles and it’s doing the visual full screen.

No fun is growing on me already. Just seems like tom is genuinely having fun being in blink.
