Doing nothing is your answer? You should demand better, trans people need better. Red states aren’t going away and even in blue states the courts are starting to take over policy

Weird how the ongoing genocide we're funding is just another issue, and you don't realize comparing it to anything else is also really fucked up.

I don't think there's any issue even close to the ongoing genocide we're committing every day and the complete lack of political will to even address the reality of the situation

weird that you don't recognize that, whether you and i like it or not, that is the case for the majority of the electorate.

just because it may be a priority for us, most people see it as one of many issues they are considering and it's not THE one. this is especially true in an election where it's an issue that neither candidate/party has any meaningful difference on. no wonder people aren't going to prioritize the issue with their vote or have it dictate their decision because either realistic option is almost equally shitty.

all the more reason the organizing/protesting/etc is important because this election isn't going to change any of it.

If only we didn't have politically biased news organizations all across television downplaying it all, too. There would definitely be more pressure from voters if more people even knew just how bad it is

Fuck no I didn't watch that because I'm good, I don't need any visuals for nightmare fuel. I did read about it tho.

And as you've already pointed out, I'm one of THOSE people who place urgency on the issues and potential issues that are happening not only in my life but right outside MY door (I live in Texas and have family in FL RIP) over stuff happening in Gaza. It's MY opinion that MY life will effected on issues that aren't Palestine and that's why placing certain issues ahead of if others is what I'm doing. And there's others in the same situation. But that DOESN'T mean I don't care about others. Palestine IS important to me. I'm still hopeful m, even if by just a sliver that Kamala comes out and says something after being elected.

Just out of curiosity, are you trans/queer? If you’re not comfortable answering that here, cool; that’s obviously your business, and everyone has their own journeys & level of comfort! But, if you’re not, then kindly keep queer people out of your mouth. I promise you, a lot of queer people would be pissed as fuck to see you use ‘em to justify this attitude towards the genocide of the Palestinian people.

  10. Perfect, we got there. You care less about Palestinians because they are far away and different from you. Goodbye

Gazans are being denied access to food, water, electricity and basic medical supplies. All while being bombed, told to move, and then those places get bombed, and they’re told to move. Over and over. They are in constant physical and mental suffering. Surgeries and amputations are being performed on children without anesthesia or pain medicine. Think about that. Everyone should be outraged. There are marginalized people here that of course we should continue to fight for, we can walk and chew gum, but history will not look kindly on making this genocide just another issue. It’s not.

I wonder why people are surprised when someone says they’re not voting when the candidates are nearly equal on easily the most pressing issue.

Where did I say I was done with the status quo and am not demanding more? As with the Palestine issue, I boil it down to: are mine and other LGBTQ+ rights going to be better under a Trump presidency or under Kamala. which administration will protect. Which administration will regress and take away rights. Which administration might even enact pro LGBTQ laws.

Hint: it's not Trump. And as also with Palestine, even if it's a slim hope there's at least that over the fact the other option will go scorched earth and it should be in everyone's best interest to ensure that DOESN'T happen.

  14. we do recognize it, we're saying it's bad, and we're saying politicians doing it is worse, and pretending for your own gain that politicians aren't doing it is even worse, and that actively celebrating those politicians because they're marginally less bad on other issues is fucking nauseating

  16. Also, HERE, in AMERICA, CLOSE to you, Palestinians and Muslims are being harassed, beaten, murdered, discriminated against for being Palestinian. A mother and her SIX YEAR OLD were murdered in Chicago by their fucking landlord who didn't have anything against them before 10/7. But the democrats' full throated support of israel was probably irrelevant to him going into a murderous racist anti-Palestinian rage. But maybe you will care because they are in America? Idk man.

I care about Palestinians. But I also care about myself and issues pertaining to me.

See this holier than thou schtick you have going on is just lol. Your failure to understand that people care about stuff in varying degrees and that not caring about stuff as much as you do doesn't make their priorities any more or less valid than yours is yeahhh.

No I had asked what the dems in power were doing to combat the red states and you said they aren’t making it worse. That’s what I meant by so nothing.

I don’t think you’re understanding that nobody here disagrees with most of this. It’s just that what’s happening in Palestine is understandably not just another issue for some people and it’s very very frustrating that neither option seems to be willing to commit to basic humanity. If you want to convince people to still vote talking about it like it’s one of our usual issues is not going to help imo.

what's more "scorched earth" than a genocide? the "best interest" case is...continued genocide?

I missed earlier when Freud said they think the Democrats are allied with Israel (while they commit genocide!) because the Dems did the math, and standing by Israel’s genocide is more electable. Not because the Dems are genuinely allied with Israel.

    That’s pretty rough.

Really thinking a lot of the party and its leadership that isn’t earned. And, simultaneously thinking little enough of them to think they’d intentionally be cool with sacrificing Palestinian children to win an election. (In order to remain in power, btw, not to gain power. And look at what has transpired with Dems in power.)
