my HOA is almost entirely hands off, the only time they have ever contacted me about our house was asking me to trim down a branch once lol

 

This is not that strong of a counterargument to me lol. I can trim my own bush if it means no one is telling me what to do with a house I own

But yeah I don't like sharing a pool so I get it but it certainly is more narrowed down than a public pool

 

it was mainly nice because it wasn’t my bush (or anyone else’s, it just kind of *was*); happy to do my own yard work, but I don’t really want to manage community property

I’m true neutral on HOAs — some HOAs are good, some HOAs are bad

 

Randall taking the HOA to supreme court because he "should definitely be allowed to blaze up infront of children at the pool"

 

The trick is to find a landlord that leaves you alone and doesn’t raise your rent every year just because they can. Not easy, but, a nice situation indeed when you do find it
