Grealish back to Villa would be cool.

  6. The problem is… do you wanna be left out in the cold when Haaland has three goals and an assist in a 6-0 rout of Ipswich? :crylaugh:

Feel sorry for mid-tier London clubs like Palace and Fulham as realistically they've reached their pinnacle being where they are in the Premier League and they'll unlikely progress further as clubs. Alas, their stars will always leave for pastures new in the end.

I know Fulham had a European run, but that was 13+ years ago and 100% challenged the norm for them as a club at the time/historically. I'm not saying they should give up, but realistically there's not a lot of hope on the horizon for them whilst Arsenal, Spurs or even Chelsea are on the scene in the city.

We say “even Chelsea”, but as much as I hate to say it, they’re only London club with a CL, and the only one to win the PL in the last twenty years lol.

They’re a massive pull for players.

  16. Report out of Netherlands said Charlotte was concerned about his medical. Tried to get a lower fee. Stengs saw that as the club not being committed to him. And he changed his mind. Weird.

The whole system is being mocked by Boehly right now. How come the FA aren’t stopping this in real time? 35 incoming first team transfers is an abuse of sporting operational procedures and there is such a clear and obvious gaming the system when it comes to the contract terms and payment structures.

  20. I suppose since we are in the final days before kickoff we can do some predictions…

    Top 4:
    Arsenal
    Man City
    Liverpool
    Tottenham

    Other Euro Spots:

    Chelsea
    Man United
    Aston Villa

This is mostly chalk. But I don’t know how else to do it haha.

Arsenal and City will battle again. And this time, I really do think Arsenal get the job done.

I could see any of the teams I have 5-7 making top 4 over Spurs or Liverpool. But it’s just too hard to leave Liverpool out. They do concern me a bit with the combo of having a new manager + not really doing anything in the window. We’ll see how that goes.

And with Spurs, who knows lol I mean, we should look sharper and more in-control this season. I really like the moves we’ve made over the last few windows. But we are targeting and signing a fair amount of young players. So, I think we will improve from last season, but I also think we should manage expectations based on the type of players we’re bringing in. We are seemingly building for long-term success and it may lead to a few frustrating stretches this season.

I know we dunk on Chelsea, but they did finish the season pretty strong. The biggest hurdle for them will be the chaos surrounding their club. But they’ll be tough to beat imo.

I really like what United have done this summer. But a fair amount of new faces could take time to gel. I also wonder how the weirdness around ETH’s status will come into play if they hit a skid.

Villa had a busy window but not really convinced they’re better. Seemed like a lot of movement to mostly stay the same level, which isn’t a bad thing. But the teams around them improved.

    Bottom 3:
    Nottingham Forest
    Brentford
    Ipswich Town

    Golden Boot: Erling Haaland
Player of the Season: Declan Rice
Young Player of the Season: Lucas Bergvall

  21. I left out Newcastle lol I think they’ll be up there with the 5-7 teams I talked about.

I don't know if we'll win the league, it'll be a hard ask. But I'm being optimistic. And if we do, Ødegaard & Saka will probably be front runners for POTS. Either way, I think the front three will be close.

Couldn't decide between Spurs, Utd, Newcastle, Villa, and Chelsea so went on vibes. Bottom three seem the weakest to me but Leicester, Brentford, and Everton will be down there too.

Mainoo is the obvious choice for YPOTS, now that Saka, Foden, and Palmer are too old.
