I don't mean this to sound condescending, but have you only ever had canned green beans?

 

green beans are a top tier vegetable

if you wanna make them good cook them in chicken broth and add butter and seasoning

 

Gotta blanch them shits, then throw them in a skillet with a fuckton of butter and sautee them until they start to char. Turn off the heat and add in some minced garlic and a dash of salt on top.

 

I've tried a good amount of home made ones from my mom and at family gatherings growing up and never liked them. Been probably 15 years since then. But I recently tried a "Healthy Choices" frozen meal with them in and I had to ask my fiance to finish it for me lol. I asked her if they taste weird and she just said "no... Tastes like normal green beans to me???"

But yeah I realize it sounds ridiculous to judge based off a frozen meal haha

 

Brother, you need to try some fresh green beans

 

Haha fair enough, I won't argue with that.

But I can confidently say that a frozen microwaved pea is better than a frozen microwaved green bean by a very large margin

 

Peas are pretty close to a bottom tier vegetable

 

Only veggies I like are peas, corn, carrots, onions, broccoli, raw spinach, potatoes, sweet potatoes and lettuce tbh

 

If you have a fish and it's swimming upside down, take the skin off a pea and feed the mushed insides to the fish. It could save its life.

I'd like to see a green bean do that.

 

Also, don't y'all know that there's no such thing as vegetables?

Sure I can agree that with that, but I think that says more about frozen and canned green beans being garbage than it does about peas lol. Pls try fresh green beans and report back

 

See my problem is that I'm very very bad at multitasking so I will make a home-cooked entree but I don't have the mental capacity to cook a side, it's gotta be something I can microwave or boil like rice heh. Genuinely don't get how people keep everything hot when they home cook multiple things at different timings and temps

Unless both are capable of being in the oven at the same time

 

I do reaaaaally miss the double ovens I grew up with, really took those for granted. But at least having an air fryer now helps

 

Vegetables are just what we call the fruits that are more serious

Also, spinach right out of the bag is tops. Super healthy and flavorless

Yeah I was really surprised when I realized a spinach salad is just as good as romaine. A local pizza place nearby only does spinach salads so that got me into it
