the fact that Biden dropped out at all, and the fact that Kamala Harris seems to be even remotely paying attention to what some Dem voters think and want is genuinely exciting in a way reality pretty much has not been since George W. Bush & Al Gore & the dimpled chads

Obama's campaign & win maybe, but that's probably it

she lost because Bell had backing from AIPAC. A lot of it. That’s it, that’s the reason. I saw multiple negative ads attack Bush every day for several months. That’s the AIPAC. The primary was won through disinformation and mud slinging.

At the Local, State, or Federal level, where has even tepid criticism of Israel not historically, routinely been met with major resistance from the Party? In the past 5 years, how much grief from their own Democratic colleagues have Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib gotten for condemnation of Israel? I think to act like DCCC, the State Party, the National Dems, etc. don’t act in concert with each other is willfully obtuse.

Moreover, if you genuinely don’t know: as someone who used to work closely with a State party as well as a County Democratic Party, I can tell you that there’s definitely overlap between these different levels.

Slightly different than this, but one of the saddest things I’ve read on the internet was one of the survivors of Parkland wrote about how their dad became some MAGA-pilled that he thought their survivor child was making up the whole thing.

The racial dynamics of these elections need to be discussed more. In Bowman's district he easily won the lower income black brown neighborhoods of mt Vernon, New Rochelle, and parts of the Bronx. But wealthier whiter neighborhoods (who all voted for Obama twice btw) came out in droves. The fear mongering on my towns FB group was like Jim crow era dog whistling, calling Bowman a savage and attacking how he speaks. Disgusting.

I know for sure the south St. Louis county/city part of the district went for Bell and the north city/county part went Bush I don’t even need to see the map to know it

A thing that unites all the democrats i think even approach “decent” on criticizing Israel is that they get tons of money from groups like AIPAC spent against them. If a Democrat got a shit ton of money donated to them by the NRA, they’d be rightly expected to disavow the group. That doesn’t happen with AIPAC, who is every bit as evil. Their support is welcomed, and used to help cleanse the party of people who are not sufficiently pro-Israel.

I know there’s overlap between the different levels, but I’m still missing what the “Democratic Party” did here. I didn’t see very much support for her but also didn’t seem to be actively kneecapping her either? Could very much be missing a story about it. But AIPAC spending as a PAC means Dems couldn’t force Ball to give the money back either since it was outside spending

    Two things.

I have a friend in Coral Springs and the shooter in the Parkland incident was caught within the vicinity of his development.

Also, this story reminds me of the time my conspiracy-pilled brother told my mom the theories of Sandy Hook being fake and had to remind him we know someone who was there, one of my brother-in-law's relatives.

Was there criticism from the Democratic Party about AIPAC’s role in the primary? Are major figures in the Party beginning to adopt Bush’s criticisms of Israel? Or have they been condemning similar remarks for years? How do you construe this as anything other than groups like AIPAC determining what is and is not going to be tolerated in the Democratic Party, as I initially posted?

to me it read like you said the Democratic Party used this to determine what is and is not going to be tolerated in the Democratic Party re: Israel, so if your point was AIPAC trying to do that then yeah I agree.

In the post you quoted, I specifically stated they were targeted by AIPAC. I didn’t say they were “kneecapped” by the Party.

My criticism for the Dems is that they welcome the support of groups like AIPAC, and AIPAC conditions their support on unwavering commitment to an ethnostate conducting a genocide. The end result is the Democratic Party’s support for genocide, directly. At best, you get some handwringing about Netanyahu as an individual. Anyone who says they care about Palestinians should not be caught dead rooting for the same people AIPAC does.
