As someone who lives in the Twin Cities and lived through the rioting, adjacent to troublemakers literally being held off a bridge into my neighborhood by the National Guard, I never once thought "why isn't Walz doing something?" Was it scary? Sure. It was unprecedented. But it stopped, while still allowing people to protest. I was more frightened when I was marching of a right-winger in a monster truck coming at us (which happened to friends who protested on the interstate) than I ever was of our government, aside from a few trigger happy MPLS cops who shot rubber bullets too freely.

And all those people who say MN burned to the ground don't realize how amazing the state is. Up north is the land if humans never fucked it up. Seasonal beauty in every season. We were ranked the happiest city in America last month!

Our taxes are higher than other states, sure, but we do a ton with them for people. Our infrastructure gets better every year. The lunches for schoolchildren. And then there's what he did with the trifecta this year for our social safety net. Paid family leave. Protection for trans kids. Abortion rights.

More than anything, he's a guy who won't run from accomplishments. I am so fucking sick of having a Dem candidate who would say "yeah, I voted for that program but I wasn't REALLY for it." He accepts every single thing he's done and defends it, and there's a lot of ammo to defend.

Holy hell, I've been pacing around my room just giddy for the last hour.

 

I'm a little late to the news, but the Dems did not make the self-defeating choice? Whaaaaaaaat?

randomly, most of my neighbors are all from Minnesota & South Dakota (in Central Mass), and whenever I complain about the cold & snow standing outside at the bus stop freezing my ass off, they'll bust out their phones and show me pictures they took visiting fam back home or that people sent them of these insane 20-foot-high snow drifts on both sides of the road
