For sure it looked pretty bad. I'm just dreading months of this Bloodline civil war without the best wrestler involved.

 

good show. main event was fine with a really strong finish. punk/drew was match of the show with gunther/priest in second

 

The way he was throwing shit around made me think it was legit. Although him injuring himself is one way to get him out of the finish without looking like a flunkie.

 

Big thing the PPV did was actually set a bunch of stories into motion and hopefully frees up KO, Randy, etc from the Bloodline story

Solo really stood out as being terrible tonight, he's been basically a jobber for so long that I can't believe he is credible as a threat

and I’m very into cameras and camera tech but damn I can’t picture an ear cam on a ref

edit: obligatory Fuck Logan Paul but goddamn I need someone to steal that springboard moonsault. Thing was nice

 

Not bad. Mostly good. The main event...... i don't think it delivered and is the only thing i hated.

The GREAT;
- Drew/Punk/Seth triple threat. It was almost impossible for this match to meet the anticipation but it pretty much got there. Maybe not an all-time classic but it did the job.
- JUDGEMENT DAY IS OVER!!! Right? Please. Or at the very least it's just officially the little jobber team it's always really been. Having babyface Rhea and "mostly" babyface Priest part of a "heel faction" has been infuriating for a whole year.
- Dom and Liv pairing is very necessary. They've been way too hesitant making Liv a full heel which she's clearly been this whole time. The pieces are falling to make more sense going forward.
- Overall very good mix of werstling, twists, returns, and turns.

The Good;
- Rhea/Liv was a good match, Gunther/Priest was a good match, LA/Paul was a good match. All top level stuff.

The Okay;
- Balor's turn was a litttttttle anti-climatic.
- Zayn/Breaker. I love that it was a quicker match than normal. I say matches need to be varied in length, but i don't think this was THAT clean and i thought maybe Zayn should've taken one more BIG hit before getting pinned clean but, eh...it's fine.
- Bayley/Nia. The match was clean, competent, and the ending was solid, but i'll be honest, this got the fast forward treatment. Bayley as babyface champ has done nothing for me. Nia is a charisma vaccuum... BUT i like them pairing Tiffany with her and this was the right booking here.

The bad;
- Main event. This might be a little harsh but......nah, this was terribly produced. Solo's awful. I'm sorry. Talk about a guy just not ready for THIS type of match and THIS type of angle in the main event of Summerslam. B level versions of Roman/Usos vs Cody and his legend friends....HOW IS THAT COMPELLING? haha. Cody just went through Roman, Usos, and the ROCK! Surely, he should be able to beat the guy that lost reguarlay on Smackdown week in week out for months and his b level goons. They couldn't make me believe Cody was in peril and it's sad that he and Michael Cole had to sell that he "was". The entire match was about Roman coming at the end, which every single human in the world knew was coming, but the whole thing was just not exciting. PLEASE LET THIS BE THE END OF CODY vs BLOODLINE. Lets move on.

And that's the best part of this summerslam, i think we can finally move on from a LOTTTTTT of pretty weak shit on the product since mania. The PPV's have been mostly good but as a whole, there's a few issues and i think/hope Summerslam may have fixed those issues.

B+ grade i feel is fair.

Good show. Nice to see talent improve and get the chance to shine like Liv and Priest. Glad Finn turned and might actually do something again.

Nia winning stinks but she’s at least looked competent lately.

Punk/Drew was fun and I’m excited for their next match.

Roman is so over, amazing what competent booking does to a guy.

Solo is not him and the sooner they swap him with Jacob the better. Hopefully his injury isn’t too serious.

 

It’s the only way he can win a singles match now.

 

I really loved when Priest got up and choked Finn.

 

Hopefully Logan Paul goes away so the midcard actually has a purpose again.

 

Face turn?

 

Not every match was great last night but all the storytelling made up for it. Hope they keep the momentum going

 

My only complaint is how short Bron/Sami was after having such a competitive match last month, and ending his reign after how he decisively ended Gunther’s.

I feel like this more that you hand him a live mic with no direction and turns out he’s this “aww shucks” kind of good guy in real life. Similar to how Damien is actually cool when he’s himself and not trying to be cool
