Talented player BUT majorly risky by Fulham breaking their transfer record on someone suspect to injuries. I hope Silva knows what he's doing as I respect him.

It's not just that he's injury prone, it's that's he's barely touched a field in 2 years during a crucial period of his development as a young player. Arsenal have done extremely well to get such a good feeling all things considered.

    It's all hell.

We are so bad at selling players, so to get c.30m for ESR is crazy.

I'm torn about him leaving. Clearly hasn't played anywhere near enough to match his own ambition, and he just isn't the profile that Arteta wants on the left with how we currently play but it's still very sad.

There was a lovely peice on Arseblog the other day on how him alongside Saka were the catalysts for change when everything was going so badly back in 2020, and it looked like he would be a mainstay alongside Saka for years to come, but this looks like Arteta being ruthless, and that is probably what we need to finally, actually (maybe) win the league if we're able to bring someone in with that money to bolster the lcm position to upgrade the rest of the team.

When ESR had us Rockin' All Over the World

I love Emile. I’ve explained why in this thread but he’s the player that reminded me why I love this sport, when supporting Arsenal was depressing and going to games was genuinely unpleasant at times (especially for those prices).

There’s no doubting the talent, but that horrific injury basically took an important year of his career, and he hasn’t regularly played in over two years now. He needs regular game time to get back his fitness. If he plays as a LW or a left leaning 10, I think he’ll be really good.

A part of me still dreams he ends up back with us someday but I think it’s more likely this is just his level now. Let’s see.

I get he's desperate to leave and has pretty much no market due to how much Napoli are asking for, but getting Osimhen on a buy OPTION is so weird. Must be a massive loan fee involved.

  10. If it’s a loan with option then Levy needs to be on the phone

Holy shit. What an insane contract to give a 16 year old without any senior experience. £30k p/w!

Glad we backed out and let him leave. You can’t blow up your entire academy’s wage structure for one player.

France v Argentina will cause so much chaos. Hopefully they get enough security in case any issues arise.

Argentina should honour Enzo for the match, like Liverpool did for Suarez when he got banned for racism.

Oh yeah, oh yeah, everything is terrible.

didn't Saka get quite the pay bump once he broke through?

  19. Ellamamama

This is your life, are you who you want to be?

Ya he got a bump after his first full season with the first team in 2020. Not really comparable to Obi-Martin though as Saka was a starter at that point.

Hope he’s good. higher bids from Germany is interesting

2007 born is absolutely fucking disgusting though. Drinking vodka and cheap cider in a field vs signing for United.

Well I'd hope so haha. But yeah, when he broke through he would have been in very, very little for a professional footballer as he signed his first pro contract in summer ‘18 and broke through in ‘19. Then signed a new deal in summer ‘20.

Chido has never played a second of senior football, and about 5 games at U21 level. He’s been great at youth level but he’s also basically bullied far less developed defenders, so it’s hard to know exactly how good he is. He’ll probably be a good player but you just don’t know until they do it at senior level.

Apparently he and his family are all hardcore United fans so fair enough. Can’t really hate on a kid for choosing the club he loves. Hope he has a good career, either at United or elsewhere.
