The women's street skateboarding rn is surprisingly very bad. I know kids at my local skatepark who can do these tricks without eating shit on every single run. What are these people doing in the Olympics of all things? The judges are resorting to just being impressed when one of them can do a basic grind.

It's just kinda embarrassing to think that these are the people being sent to the Olympics when you have Rodney Mullen at age 57 who could still skate circles around them lol

People say the same thing about Olympic Taekwondo. When you're playing safe for points it makes it less fun to watch

 

Also like this is way harder than it looks, skateboarding videos aren’t a good thing to compare it to, the trial and error in those is insanely high

 

Also, ths same exact thing happens in the X Ganes, SLS, etc. I assure you these women are all among the very best in the world at what they do lol

 

Yeah, as someone who broke their ankle skateboarding at 16 by doing something dumb, it is MUCH harder than it looks.
