At the risk of being swayed by how he speaks on cable news, Walz speaks exactly on the issues that get dems elected. The messaging of Trump as a liar, or whatever doesn't work. Over and over again we've seen that if you stay on the message of: we're gonna build roads, we're gonna give you reproductive freedom, we're gonna raise your wages, it gets a hell of a lot easier to win. Walz does that really well, I think, while letting on more personality off the cuff.

I subjected myself to a couple hours of Pod Save America in the weeks after the debate, just cause I wanted to hear a perspective on Biden's situation from the "party elite." It largely confirmed the mental image of that political class I've had from all the way back to the 2016 primary. A small bubble of self satisfied, arguably corrupt dweebs making every strategic decision based on conventional wisdom barely evolved from the mid-20th century, back when shamelessly propagandizing most of the American public through 2 newspapers and 3 networks was practically effortless. And the worst thing is that they probably optimize their decisions as much on how other DC insiders perceive them as on actual electoral outcomes.

This is what makes this feel like 2008. Obama won votes he otherwise wouldn't have by *insane* levels of organization. It's insane what you can do when your candidate doesn't have to be hidden because every second he opens his mouth he loses votes.

Yeah the hundreds of millions of the dollars Harris will be raising will allow her team to invest huge sums into their outreach infrastructure, which should have a pretty sizable impact on election day. This is incredibly disingenuous because Biden was still in the race at that point. I don't have a doubt in my mind that if Biden were still in it right now, come election day Trump would have dog walked him
