  5. you know I’m joking but sorry for bringing it up nonetheless

Peter Jackson 100% would’ve fucked up Bombadil tho imo. he’d just be all quirky and cutesy like radagast in the hobbit instead of being basically god like he’s supposed to be

People were too cruel to this show for no reason. Writing was great and it looks gorgeous? Hard to complain about that.

Yeah this is about where it's at for me. haven't thought about it at all since the finale and barely thought about it when it was on. I'll still be tuning in. But I also said that for WoT and I still haven't watched that so idk.

I watched the first episode of this and don't remember much but I'd be willing to give it another try

I don't even want to bother with WoT tho

eh, it very boldly breaks Tolkien lore.

but some nerds just can’t understand that, hey, the books still exist! you can still enjoy those, and you can enjoy the show as something else!

It’s been a long time since I watched it so let me recall. The main thing I didn’t like about the writing was the dialogue. It seemed stiff and almost a parody of high fantasy instead of the actual thing. Another thing that really bothered me was how unlikable all of the main characters were. I know that characters don’t have to be likable for a show to be good but I think that they were supposed to be likable, the writers just failed at it. There was were characters except maybe the dwarves that I was invested in at all.
